🌊 On World Ocean Day, Forbes highlighted a story that is at the heart of who we are: in The Islands of Tahiti, ocean conservation and sustainable tourism go hand in hand. From the creation of Tainui Atea, one of the world's largest marine protected areas, to pioneering shark protection measures and the integration of ancestral Polynesian knowledge into environmental stewardship, French Polynesia demonstrates that tourism can be a powerful force for preserving natural and cultural heritage. Our lagoons, reefs, and marine ecosystems are more than breathtaking landscapes—they are the foundation of our culture, our way of life, and our future. Protecting them is a shared commitment that benefits local communities, visitors, and generations to come. We are honored to see Forbes recognize the efforts of French Polynesia and all those working to build a sustainable tourism model rooted in respect for the ocean. 📖 Read the full article: https://lnkd.in/gQzyWpVd

Most visitors come to The Islands of Tahiti for the landscapes. But the real heartbeat of French Polynesia? Its culture. Every year, Heiva brings our islands to life through dance, music, sports and centuries-old traditions passed down from generation to generation. More than a festival, Heiva is the soul of Tahiti. We’re delighted to see this beautifully written feature by Athena Lucero, who we hosted during last year’s festivities, capturing both the history of Heiva and her firsthand experience attending celebrations in Tahiti and Bora Bora. 📸 Looking back at AIRS 2026 From June 1–5, Tahiti Tourisme had the pleasure of welcoming its international representatives to Tahiti for AIRS – the Annual International Representations Seminar, formerly known as Brainstorming Week. This annual gathering brought together representatives from across our global markets for a week dedicated to collaboration, knowledge sharing, and strategic alignment as we collectively shape the future of The Islands of Tahiti. Throughout the week, participants took part in: • Quarterly business reviews and strategic discussions to help define our 2027 Action Plan; • Working sessions with Tahiti Tourisme Head Office teams; • A dedicated workshop with Air Tahiti Nui; • Representative presentations and market insights shared with local industry partners; • One-on-one meetings to foster meaningful exchanges and strengthen collaboration; • The REPS Awards Ceremony, recognizing the outstanding contributions and achievements of our representatives around the world. AIRS 2026 provided a valuable opportunity to strengthen connections, align priorities, and further reinforce the partnerships that support the international promotion of The Islands of Tahiti. A sincere thank you to all our representatives, partners, and teams for their commitment, expertise, and continued dedication to our destination. #TahitiTourisme #AIRS2026 #TheIslandsOfTahiti
