Insulet (Nasdaq:PODD) announced today on social media that it appointed Dr. Divakar Ramakrishnan as its new chief R&D officer.

In a LinkedIn post, the company said Ramakrishnan will lead its R&D organization. His focus centers around strengthening Insulet’s capabilities in delivering innovation around the world. Ramakrishnan joins as the company continues to advance its automated insulin delivery technology, including the next-generation Omnipod 6 and fully closed-loop insulin delivery.

Acton, Massachusetts-based Insulet said he brings more than 20 years of experience in the healthcare industry. That includes “deep expertise in medical devices and regulated manufacturing,” Insulet said in a LinkedIn post.
