With the launch, Spain becomes the 26th country in which Insulet sells Omnipod and the 20th reached by Omnipod 5, the company’s latest-generation patch-based automated insulin delivery system.
Omnipod 5 became the world’s first available tubeless, wearable, automated insulin delivery system when it received FDA clearance in January 2022. The waterproof, discreet system helps simplify diabetes management by automatically adjusting insulin every five minutes to help improve glycemic outcomes. It communicates with a continuous glucose monitor (CGM) to proactively correct for highs and protect against lows. Omnipod 5 delivers improved time in range and reduced HbA1c without requiring multiple daily injections (MDI).
Omnipod Discover, a proprietary and retrospective data analytics and reporting platform, was designed for Omnipod 5 users, their caregivers and healthcare providers. It streamlines the analysis of glucose and insulin delivery data to deliver meaningful insights.
