Quai d'Été
Quai d’Été returns for its second edition from July 2 to 19, transforming Quai des Péniches into Brussels’ free urban summer hotspot. Expect chill activities, sports, food & drinks, and daily DJ cruises aboard The Boat along the canal. A festive open-air escape in the heart of the city.
From July 2 to 19, Quai d’Été takes over Quai des Péniches, transforming the canal banks into a lively and accessible summer destination in the heart of Brussels.
Organised by Brussels Major Events, this initiative by the City of Brussels offers a friendly onshore programme alongside DJ-led cruises aboard The Boat.
Onshore, the programme is designed for all audiences, featuring creative workshops, artistic performances, yoga sessions, DJ sets, children’s activities and more, all developed in collaboration with numerous Brussels-based partners. Because apparently Brussels collectively decided that summer should involve yoga, music and people pretending they’re not checking work emails every seven minutes.
At the same time, the barge “The Boat” hosts 38 themed cruises combining music and festive experiences. Several Brussels and Belgian collectives take over the decks, with two cruises per day and three on Saturdays.
With Quai d’Été, the canal becomes a true meeting and relaxation spot where locals, visitors and curious passers-by can enjoy Brussels together.
Quai d’Été is part of Plaisirs d’Été, which brings together all summer events organised by Brussels Major Events.

Visit the Royal Palace
From 3 July to 16 August, the Royal Palace in Brussels opens its doors. After a period of extensive renovation work, you can once again discover the administrative residence and main workplace of the King and Queen.
Booking a time slot is required.
Welcome to the Royal Palace of Brussels, where Belgium’s head of state has his principal office. It is here that the King works every day together with his staff. It is also where, either in audiences or at work meetings, he receives numerous people in positions of responsibility from the political, social, economic, cultural and military spheres, as well as leading figures from abroad. This, too, is where the Queen has her office and where she receives her guests.
The Royal Palace of Brussels symbolizes, above all other locations, the role of the monarchy in Belgium. Important events in the life of the nation take place here. For example, at the end of January each year, the King delivers a speech to the nation’s various authorities in the Throne Room, the largest of the Palace’s rooms. Built on the site where the Palace of the Dukes of Brabant and Burgundy once stood, the Royal Palace of Brussels is the result of successive architectural initiatives. A great many of the artworks and furnishings from the Royal Collection are to be found in its rooms and salons.
