(COLORADO SPRINGS) — One local artist is turning ordinary snowboards into hand-painted works of art, blending creativity, sustainability, and a love for the mountains.

Alaina LaFever, founder and graphic designer of AFEVE-R-DREAM, joined FOX21's Krista Witiak on Loving Living Local to share how she started painting boards, her creative process, and how her designs give back to the community.

Each board takes 6 to 48 hours to complete, and customers can provide their own board or choose from Alaina's selection. She also offers fully custom designs created through her meditative process.

Ten percent of every sale is donated to nonprofits like the National Park Foundation and Protect Our Winters, supporting her mission to reduce waste. Boards are available online at afeverdream.com or locally at Cabin Creek Brewery in Georgetown, Colorado. New custom commissions open at the end of February, with a typical 5-7 day turnaround.
