Gun owners, the vast majority of whom are not problematic in terms of the violence being targeted, are getting scapegoated pretty hard in San Jose. The glee of GVP advocates over this is telling.
The San Jose city council has approved the first-of-its-kind measure that would require gun-owning households to contribute money for violence prevention (~$25 annually) and get gun liability insurance.

Lost my dad 1 yr ago. I carry him with me every day. I was fortunate to work with him & learn about work from him. I would try so hard to make my work look as good as his & would always ask him, "How is this?" He would always say, "Did you do your best?" His standard is now mine.
12 years in the making and now just one final read-through for clarity. This is a major "don't let the perfect be the enemy of the good enough" moment. Time to let it go and be whatever it is meant to be.

Not only can I not compete well in today's attention economy, but I realized recently I don't want to. I am going to be putting more time and energy going forward into what suits me best, like distilling a decade's worth of research down into 10k words.
