FAQs

How do I know if I already have a Search profile?
  1. Go to Google Search.
  2. Search for your name.
  3. Next to your knowledge panel, click More More and then View Google Profile.
How do I add content to my profile?

When you link a new social account to your Search profile, Google automatically adds content from that platform to your profile. New content typically goes live within 24 hours.

Can I change my name, social links & bio?

Changes to factual information require Google approval. This includes your name, social links, and bio. Until Google checks them, your suggested changes stay in "Pending” status.

Does profile creation affect ranking?

No. Creation of a Search profile doesn't directly affect your content's ranking on Google Search. If someone follows you from your Search profile, they may see more of your content on Discover.

Where can users find my profile?

On Google Discover: When users find your content on their Discover feed, to find your profile, they can select your name in the header.

On Google Search: Google may integrate content from your profile. This includes your name, bio, and social links—directly into your knowledge panel. To find the Search profile, at the bottom of the Knowledge panel, tap View Search Profile.

Why isn't my profile showing up in search?

Your Search profile is designed to trigger when users are specifically searching for you. If you have a common name, Search may not immediately display your profile because there are many others competing for that query.

To view your profile, search for your social account or Youtube handles (@username) instead.

Tip: If you’ve tried to search for your social handles and the profile still doesn’t appear for a search you believe is unique to you, let us know. While in Edit mode:

  1. At the top right of your profile, click More More.
  2. For us to review the issue, click Send feedback.
Which YouTube channel should I use to create my profile?

To create your profile, use the YouTube channel with the highest follower count. Once created, you can link other YouTube channels to your profile.

Tip: At least one linked social account must meet the eligibility requirements.

Can I manage multiple identities on one profile?

Create a separate Search profile for each brand or identity you manage, like personal brand, podcast, or personality. You need a separate Google Account for each profile. You can link the same content platform account to multiple profiles.

Can I create a profile for someone under 18 that I manage?

Yes. You can claim and manage a profile for someone who’s under 18. To create the profile, you must use a Google Account owned by someone 18 or older.
