Environment Technology Research Programme (ETRP)
Objectives
The ETRP is a $15 million seed funding programme to build up technological competencies and to support a growing ecosystem of companies and researchers undertaking Clean Environment R&D in waste management. The ETRP awards grants to R&D projects on a competitive basis in the field of waste management specifically in the areas of energy recovery, materials recovery and special waste treatment. It aims to find sustainable and cost-efficient environment solutions that are applicable to Singapore.
Eligibility Criteria
Grant is open to researchers from Institutes of Higher Learning (IHLs), public sector agencies, not-for-profit research entities, Singapore-registered companies and for-profit research organizations.
Evaluation Criteria:
Project shall be evaluated in the following areas:
- High technical/science merits
- Potential for marketable applications
- Excellent execution capabilities
- Projects mainly conducted in Singapore
- Reasonable proposed budget
Award Quantum and Duration
The maximum funding quantum for each project shall be S$2 million and the duration is for a maximum of 3 years.

Proposal Submission

Formal application shall be made in the following format:
a. One softcopy with numbered pages in PDF format and the funding details template in excel format via email to nea_etrp@nea.gov.sg by 10 April 2013, 12 noon;
AND
b. One hardcopy duly signed and endorsed. It shall be printed double-sided on A4 sized paper, bound and submitted in a sealed envelope by 17 April 2013 to:
