We had a 767 windshield full of Chugach mountains and glaciers after departing Anchorage last night. Always a good show! 🛫 🏔⛰🏔⛰🏔

View out of 767 front windows from 20,000 feet. Lots of tall snow-capped mountains flying over the Alaska Chugach range.
Similar view as 1st photo. View of snow covered glacier.

“Curious indeed how these things happen. The wand chooses the wizard, Mr. Potter. It's not always clear why.”

A duffle bag at the bottom of the aircraft air stairs is filled with orange marshalling wands. I hold one on my hand. It has chosen me! 😀

Kind of fun riding to Louisville in the same aircraft I just brought in from Narita. The guys have it all ready to go. Gotta love the 767’s large flight deck. I’m the only rider tonight 👍Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport (ANC) adlı yerde

Another short night thanks to modern aviation. Left Narita last night a little before 10 pm. Arrived in Anchorage at 11:30 am.Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport (ANC) adlı yerde

9 pm in Narita. Sitting in a van watching as our 767 comes to a stop by the air stairs.
View out our 767 entry door on the apron in Anchorage at lunchtime. Overcast skies. 2 747 aircraft in the background.

Geez. You take a few days off and Tokyo changes all their Departure and Arrival procedures (SIDs & STARs). 🤯😳 I grew up with those old ones 😢🤣

Yesterday’s drive down the cargo apron in Shanghai. All the usual suspects. [30 sec time lapse - driving by 15 cargo aircraft of different sizes, 737 to 747. Airlines from China, Emirates, and U.S.]

Rode the “EgoBus” to the airport in Shanghai. Seems appropriate for a bunch of airline pilots. 🤣

Getting ready to fly Shanghai-Narita. While I’m gone, enjoy this 747-400F Convection Oven Demo👨‍🍳 Thai Chicken w/Peanut Sauce & pasta. 5 minutes before it was done, I popped in a chocolate-nut cookie🍪. Warm & gooey 😀 767 has a smaller convection oven that we’ll be using today.

Another great example of how important the dispatcher’s role is. Dispatchers have the “big picture” and often suggest route changes to flight crews.

I’ve never seen Shanghai this clear. Beautiful day! ☀️

I’m the only rider today so I get my choice — window seat, aisle seat, whatever I want! 😀Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport (ANC) adlı yerde

Another day, another 747 jumpseat. Today’s ride is a -400F from Anchorage to Shanghai. Once in Shanghai, I’ll rest then do some work. 767 to Tokyo-Narita then back to Anchorage.Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport (ANC) adlı yerde

This is a true statement. ☕️

I’ve watched this way too many times this morning. Just wow. Watch the waffle-shaped aero-brake thingies make adjustments near the end. Never gets old.
