    I'm using the 9400-16i in a Fedora 32 (Linux) virtualization server. It's connected to an Icy Dock MB516SP-B which is a 16 bay SSD backplane. I did experience some set-up problems, but it turned out that these were due to bad/incompatible cables; neither the HBA nor the backplane were at fault. Performance is respectable: bonnie++ shows 1.8GB/sec block reads and 2.0 GB/sec block writes (using ZFS w/ 8 mirrored VDEVs.) I'm very happy with this host bus adapter.
