City Council Message

As election season approaches, it’s a good time to reflect on the tremendous privilege, opportunity, and responsibility we have as citizens to vote. The decisions made at every level of government have a profound impact on our lives and the future of our nation.

Voting is not just a right, it’s a chance for each of us to shape the direction of our country. I encourage you to take the time to research the candidates and the issues that matter most to you, then to get out there and vote! It may sound cliche, but it’s nonetheless true that your vote is your voice, and it’s one of the most powerful ways to influence the future we want to build together.

As we navigate what can sometimes be complex and divisive topics, let’s also remember to approach each other with kindness, respect, and an open mind. We may not always agree, but our diversity of thought is what makes our community strong. At the end of the day, we’re all working towards a better future for our families, neighbors, and our country. Let's continue to be thoughtful and considerate in our conversations, always treating our neighbors with the love and understanding that make our community strong.

Thank you for being an engaged and thoughtful part of Orem! Let’s embrace this privilege with care, knowing that together, we can help shape a brighter tomorrow.

Orem is Open for Business: Business Highlights

Orem is full of incredible small businesses. We highlight several businesses every month with hopes of connecting Orem residents with their local businesses. Here are the businesses we visited this past month:

Gold Star Family Monument Project

Image

We're building Utah County's first Gold Star Family Monument to honor those local families that have lost a loved one in armed conflict and we're accepting 100% tax deductible donations to help make it happen.

Donors at the Gold, Silver, and Bronze levels will have their names engraved on a granite wall in the Freedom Plaza. Donations of all amounts are of course welcome as we want these families to know they are not forgotten.

Donations are 100% tax-deductible and can be made online.
