Dear IC3 Community,

Between wrapping up our first Accelerator program, publishing new research, and preparing for next month's IC3 Blockchain Camp, it’s been anything but quiet at IC3.

Here's what we've been up to:

New IC3 Research

An Algebraic Approach to Asymmetric Delegation and Polymorphic Label Inference

This paper introduces a new semantic framework for information flow control (IFC) labels that enables asymmetric delegation, allowing partial sharing of confidentiality or integrity in decentralized systems.

The authors address limitations in existing IFC models, especially around modeling semi-honest agents and securely downgrading information. They present a novel algorithm for statically checking non-malleable information flow (NMIF), along with an efficient label inference system that supports bounded polymorphism. Together, these contributions lay the groundwork for more modular and expressive IFC systems.

A Primer on Oracle Economics

The authors introduce the Oracle Trilemma, a core challenge in blockchain infrastructure that balances decentralization, truthfulness, and scalability. The paper explores how oracles are evolving through mechanisms like off-chain reporting, dynamic incentives, and hybrid validation models.

The authors highlight oracles' growing role in DeFi, gaming, supply chains, and sustainability, while outlining how innovations in AI and IoT integration could expand their reach. They emphasize the need for formal standards, recursive incentives, and interdisciplinary collaboration to make oracles more secure, scalable, and adaptable.

Media Coverage

Cornell Tech Ph.D. student & IC3 member James Austgen spoke with CryptoNews.com and The Block about Take My Ape, a new initiative with Oasis Protocol Foundation that allows anyone to temporarily borrow a Bored Ape and appear onchain as the actual NFT owner.

This proof-of-concept uses Liquefaction under the hood, a wallet platform that lets assets tied to a single Ethereum address be rented, shared, or pooled with zero onchain traces.

Liquefaction co-author Dani Vilardell conducted a live demonstration at EthDam earlier this month. Watch the demo here.

IC3's Amy Zhao also caught up with The Edge of Show at the Digital Asset Summit in New York to discuss how Ava Labs is reshaping tokenized assets and government applications. Go here to watch the full episode.

Accelerator Program Wraps Up

Image
Image

It’s hard to believe IC3’s inaugural Blockchain Accelerator program has officially come to a close.

Over the course of 14 weeks, each of the five teams (AgentBall, Prinx, SpaceComputer, BitGPT, Sparsity) went into builder mode, gained valuable 1:1 mentorship, and connected with top-tier investors across the ecosystem.

Congratulations to AgentBall and Prinx, each awarded $10,000 in seed funding for projects that met the Accelerator program's key criteria. SpaceComputer also secured pre-seed funding, led by Primitive Ventures. Read more about their funding announcement here.

BitGPT at Consensus

BitGPT made a splash at Consensus Toronto, one of the industry's leading conferences. Lia Müller Peña, Co-founder and Chief Strategy Officer, moderated a panel and was interviewed by CoinDesk.

Mark Your Calendars: BitGPT and Sparsity will conduct live demonstrations of their projects on Anniversary Day (June 11th) at the upcoming IC3 Blockchain Camp. Go here to register.
