This is a guide for using the Police Data Access Point and associated tools, and contributing data or code.
We're cataloguing sources of data in a database at https://pdap.io so people can find information about local police systems.
People of all skill levels can help with our mission!
The quickest way to contribute is by labeling (annotating) new Data Sources. Head to https://pdap.io/annotate to get started.
To support us financially, you can donate here. We're a non-profit, so your donations may be tax-deductible.
To contribute code, start with a Good First Issue.
Our github organization contains our code repositories. We have a handful of apps working in conjunction to identify, collect, document, archive, and share sources of data.
The Data Sources App repo is the back end for our Data Sources API.
The Data Source Identification repo houses our code for collecting sources for the database.
The pdap.io repo is our primary front end for working with the API.
