# Encore Cloud

> The managed platform that provisions and operates AWS and GCP from your application code


Encore Cloud is a managed platform that pairs with the [Encore.ts](/docs/ts) and [Encore.go](/docs/go) infrastructure SDKs.

The SDKs let you declare cloud infrastructure (SQL databases, Pub/Sub, object storage, caches, cron jobs, secrets) directly in your application code. Encore Cloud reads those declarations and provisions matching resources (RDS, Cloud SQL, SNS+SQS, Pub/Sub, S3, GCS, etc.) in **your own AWS or GCP account**, then handles deployments, environments, secrets, and observability on top.

You own the cloud account and the infrastructure. There are no runtime dependencies on Encore Cloud, and no proprietary code runs in your cloud. If you'd rather wire everything up yourself (with Terraform, Pulumi, or any other tool), [self-hosting](/docs/ts/self-host/build) is fully supported.

## What Encore Cloud does

- **[A tight iteration loop from local to production](/docs/platform/workflow):** The same infrastructure model runs locally, in per-PR preview environments, and in production, so every change can be validated end-to-end against real cloud services before merge. This is what makes Encore work well with AI coding agents.
- **[Provisions infrastructure in your cloud](/docs/platform/infrastructure/infra):** Encore reads the resources you declared in code and creates the corresponding services in your AWS or GCP account, with least-privilege IAM generated from how the code uses them.
- **[Manages deployments and environments](/docs/platform/deploy/deploying):** Connect a GitHub repo and push to deploy; preview environments, staging, and production are all handled with no CI/CD pipeline to maintain.
- **[Built-in observability](/docs/platform/observability/tracing):** Distributed tracing, metrics, and logs, plus a [service catalog](/docs/platform/observability/service-catalog) and [architecture diagrams](/docs/platform/observability/encore-flow) generated from your code.
