The Wikimedia East, Southeast Asia and the Pacific Regional Cooperation (ESEAP) is a regional collaborative composed of nationalities and Wikimedia affiliates of Australia, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, Myanmar, New Zealand, Philippines, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, and Vietnam. Membership also includes nationalities and informal communities of Brunei, Cambodia, People's Republic of China, Laos, Macau, Mongolia, Papua New Guinea, Timor-Leste, and Pacific island nations Federated States of Micronesia, Fiji, Kiribati, Marshall Islands, Nauru, Palau, Samoa, Solomon Islands, Tonga, Tuvalu, and Vanuatu.
The ESEAP Hub is a platform to encourage communities in the region to share their experiences and ideas, and to find collaboration opportunities with other communities in the region. The Hub will also encourage communities to publish news and reports from their communities to this platform, which will be integrated into periodic newsletters to help build mutual understanding. This portal will also serve as a gateway to better communicate with the international community. The ESEAP Hub’s formation is underpinned by a Declaration Statement on the Creation of the Regional Hub and guided by the ESEAP Hub Charter.
