Adam was raised in a Jewish family, the son of Judith (Levine), a nursery school teacher, and Stanley Sandler, an electrical engineer. He was born in Brooklyn, New York, and raised in Manchester, New Hampshire. He said in a Russian interview that his parents’ families were both Russian Jewish. He also has Lithuanian Jewish ancestry. He was raised partly in Conservative Judaism, and then mostly in Reform Judaism. Adam had a Bar Mitzvah ceremony.
Adam is married to model and actress Jackie Sandler (born Jacqueline Samantha Titone), with whom he has two children, actresses Sadie Sandler and Sunny Sandler. Jackie is of Italian descent. She is a convert to Judaism.
He founded production company Happy Madison Productions. He also co-wrote his Billy Madison, Happy Gilmore, The Waterboy, Big Daddy, Little Nicky, Adam Sandler’s Eight Crazy Nights, You Don’t Mess with the Zohan, Grown Ups, Jack and Jill, Grown Ups 2, Hotel Transylvania 2, The Ridiculous 6, Sandy Wexler, The Week Of, Hubie Halloween, Leo, and Happy Gilmore 2; as well as the film Bucky Larson: Born to Be a Star.
Adam’s patrilineal line can be traced to his great-great-great-great-grandfather, Berko Sandler, who was born, c. 1792, in Poland.
Adam’s paternal grandfather was Philip Sandler (the son of Joseph Jacob/Jossel Sandler and Beckie/Becki/Rebecca/Rivka Zilberman/Silberman/Silverman). Philip was born in New York, to Lithuanian Jewish parents. Joseph was born in Panemune, Tauragė County, the son of Yehuda Yudel Sandler and Feige Polak/Pollak. Adam’s great-grandmother Beckie was born in Vilnius, the daughter of Eliyahu Zilberman/Silberman/Silverman and Mina Finklestein.
Adam’s paternal grandmother was Anna Eva Friedman (the daughter of Harry Friedman and Bessie Fried). Anna was born in New York, to Russian Jewish parents. Harry was the son of Max Friedman and Lottie Cohen. Bessie was the daughter of Samuel Fried and Annie Katz.
Adam’s maternal grandfather was named Daniel Levine. Daniel was born in Russia.

I don’t think Sandler looks Middle Eastern, but he does have a strongly Mediterranean look. He doesn’t look much lighter than his Italian/Sicilian wife and has an aquiline nose, wavy dark brown hair, and a full beard. There are definitely some Italians (especially central and southern) looking like him.

Adam sandler just looks like the standard ashkenazi jew for the record. There are some slavic phenotypes not unalike to his, but overall he just looks jewish
phreshboyswag, he looks similar to a lot of Ashkenazi Jews because he is one. His father had a Middle Eastern look and his mother looked European, so Sandler looks about half way between the two. The average AJ is about half Middle Eastern and half European. There are a lot of Southern Europeans who also look pseudo-West Asian or sort of “halfway” like I described.
And Slava and Northern Euros their natural Asiatic side make them Jews. Think about Queen Elizabeth.

He looks neither Middle Eastern or Mediterranean, he is quite a mainstream entertainer and has no “ethnic” look on him. andrew, I think that contrary to your very rigid definition of a Mediterranean phenotype, it’s actually a spectrum of various physical appearances. Sandler arguably fits somewhere along that spectrum. I don’t know why you think that Portuguese man should be phenotypically representative of most Mediterranean people, I can clearly tell the difference between a Cypriot and an Iberian for instance. Also, clothes are kind of meaningless in regards to phenotype and more reflect contemporary culture and societal norms. Sandler’s ancestors probably wore Eastern European attire since that was the fashion among Polish-Russian Jews since at least the 17th century, if not earlier.

Sandler does not really look Med-looking. There are Jewish fellas with such look, I can think to Eli Roth for example.
On a side note, Eli Roth looks incredibly similar to Sarah Silverman, the two could be siblings.
