Iris Hadar: Education is a right, not a privilege

Iris Hadar is an adult education institution with a foundation built on social inclusion. Dating back to the 1800’s, the school was founded by a group of visually impaired people who created their own path into the workplace, at a time when the labour market excluded them. Today, the message of inclusion still rings clear, as Vice Principal Chrystel Sinclair-Brandt puts it: "It doesn't matter who you are. Regardless of background, language proficiency, or diagnoses, you have the right to be a part of society and to influence it."

Seamless integration: Arcada's digitalisation with itslearning and SISU

Arcada is one of only two Swedish-language Universities of Applied Sciences in Finland, where Swedish holds the status of the second official language. Located in Helsinki’s Arabianranta district, Arcada’s single-campus setup fosters a strong sense of community by bringing students and staff together in one central location. The university has approximately 3,000 students and an academic staff of 120 people.

Arcada offers a wide range of Swedish-language degree programs in various fields, such as social and health care, technology, culture, media and business. The university also offers international undergraduate and postgraduate degree programs in several fields, also in English.

Fagskolen i Agder - Successful Implementation of Online Vocational Education

Fagskoleni Agder launched their online vocational training programs in the autumn of 2021, transitioning from traditional classroom settings to a fully online model. Eva Merethe Hornnes, the school’s e-learning coordinator, played a key role in this transformation, focusing on leveraging student data and feedback to manage the shift effectively. In June 2021, Hornnes met with itslearning pedagogue Beathe Kathrine Moe in the itslearning podcast Skoletid to discuss the process and success. This case study was written based on that conversation.

Training to Triumph: Aspero's Unified Learning Approach

What distinguishes Aspero is its pioneering approach to digitalisation in education, a commitment that has been upheld since its establishment 21 years ago. Notably, Aspero has embraced learning platforms, such as itslearning, and implemented unified documentation systems. This strategic utilisation has not only streamlined administrative processes but has also fostered a cohesive and user-friendly environment for students, educators, and guardians alike. The smart use of one platform over three schools has created Aspero's winning game plan for nurturing the academic and athletic development of its students.

The right LMS as a centralised hub boosts teaching and learning
