It is estimated that in 2024, 86.5% of traffic on major ticketing sites was generated by bots. That's not a statistic. That's why tickets for every major tour sell out in seconds and reappear on resale with a steep markup. Thirty Seconds to Mars has already reserved tickets for verified humans on their 2027 tour. Concert Kit is open to any artist who wants to reserve their tickets for real, verified fans.

Vercel's Chief Product Officer, Tom Occhino, helped build React at Facebook. His new framework for backend logic is called Workflows. He says proof of human is the canonical use case for it. Here's why that matters: agentic software is proliferating faster than the identity infrastructure to govern it. Agents book tickets, execute transactions, and sign up for services. Without a verified human in the loop, downstream providers have no way to know what's real. Vercel just made proof of human a single function call inside any TypeScript workflow. Developers don't manage retries, state, or async orchestration. They write one line: await proof of human. The rest resolves. This is what World ID integration looks like at the infrastructure layer — not a user-facing badge, but a primitive baked into the way software is built. https://ow.ly/Qp6450Z0p6B

"Now it’s become easier to understand why 'proof of human,' as TFH calls it, might be a pressing issue. Deepfaked imposters have become so convincing that they’ve already been used in impersonation scams that have netted millions of dollars for cybercriminals. Moreover, the rise of agentic AI has us hurtling toward an era when agents will jostle for resources across the internet—not always for sinister purposes, but certainly in ways that will complicate life for those of us made of flesh and blood... Consequently, a reliable means of validating one’s humanity—CAPTCHAs are notoriously easy to fool—could become essential infrastructure. 'At the limit, every single app and website on the internet will have to use something like World ID to protect itself and its users,' says TFH chief product officer Tiago Sada." World ID 4.0, a proof of human technology, is going enterprise-grade with a strong lineup of platforms bringing it to their users. Tinder is using World ID in the US, and giving verified users a real-human badge and (for a limited time) free Boosts. Proof of human has a new use case on Docusign, which document signers can use to prove they're human. Zoom, paired with World ID, verifies that the person on your call is indeed a person, not a deepfake. For the agentic web, Vercel is using World ID to add "human in the loop" verification to AI workflows. Okta is building a new "Human Principal" product with World ID. With 18M verified humans across 160 countries, there's never been a better time to be a human.

Lift Off marks how the real human network is scaling in the age of AI. What does that look like in practice? For people – Bringing proof of human into the platforms where people already participate, from dating (Tinder) to live events (Concert Kit). For businesses – Today’s systems verify devices and accounts, but not humans. Zoom and Docusign introduce something fundamentally new with the support of World ID: human continuity. For agents – As AI agents increasingly act on behalf of individuals, proving a unique human behind each agent becomes critical. World ID, combined with World's AgentKit, provides the infrastructure to enable this at scale. In collaboration with Browserbase, Exa, Okta, and Vercel, these capabilities are beginning to take shape in real-world use cases. Read more: https://lnkd.in/gpfkgCDw

As AI-generated action becomes indistinguishable from human interaction, systems risk disinformation and loss of trust at scale. Proof of Human becomes critical infrastructure for restoring trust and participation in an increasingly agent-driven world.

Agentic capability is improving fast. We believe Proof of Human is becoming critical for the internet and many of the platforms we use (like X). This paper explains why FaceID, face biometrics & government IDs won’t solve the problem, and what properties are most important. Find the Blog here: https://lnkd.in/gjGMBBCT
