On May 1, 2024, Blade Games launched the Private Test for Dune Factory. Over 90% of the hundreds of players who received an invitation participated in the game test and provided dozens of valuable feedback points.

Following this, Blade Games upgraded the turret mechanics, redesigned the background, combat effects, and turret/creep artwork. We also removed features like the conveyor belt so the game becomes more accessible to players based on community feedback.

On July 23, 2024, Dune Factory made its return at the FOCG Summer event, co-hosted by 0G Labs and Blade Games, which saw enthusiastic participation from 741,192 unique active wallets. After this stress test and additional feedback from players, Blade Games is now full of confidence in its future release of Dune Factory.

FOCG Summer Wrap-up

The FOCG Summer co-hosted by 0G, Blade Games and Blockbooster has successfully concluded on August 22nd. The player points tallying process is currently underway, and more information will be shared with everyone in the near future.

We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to all users who enthusiastically participated and actively spread the word. We also express our gratitude to 0G, Blade Games and Blockbooster communities, and all the users and friends who engaged in the campaign.

At a time when blockchain infrastructure is prepared for high-throughput applications, on-chain games have also entered their golden era. Blade Games’ core game, Dune Factory, is set to enter beta testing in late September. Additionally, several games utilizing our ZK on-chain game engine will be launched soon in October. Stay tuned!

FOCG Summer Achievements

The FOCG Summer marks an important milestone for Blade Games. During this event, we had:

Gameplay Guide

Resources and Items

Stove

Stove is your main base to defend.

Bag

Bag is used to keep items that are not needed at the moment (sometimes the turret will automatically be stored in the bag).

Processed Materials

Processed Materials are used to upgrade Turrets. You can get Processed Materials by crafting and by conquering stages.

Beads

Box

Powder

Horn

Raw Materials

Raw Materials are used to craft Processed Materials. They have chance to drop when a creep is killed. Every 20 Raw Materials can be crafted into a Processed Material.

Turrets

Turrets are the main force to defend your base. All Turrets are upgradable.

Click “E” to turn the Turrets around.

Area Damage

Area Damage attacks enemies in surrounding areas

Laser Weapon Robot

Laser Weapon Robot shoots enemies in front of it (Click E to turn the turrets around)

Cannon

Cannon attacks the creeps in a single direction (Click E to turn the turrets around)

How to Play

Start laying your building (highlighted in red) around the blue line which is the creep’s walking route. The other icons on the bottom taskbar are your resources indicators that can be used to upgrade turrets.

Each stage begins in a paused state. Click the play button at the top right of the screen and the monsters will start to spawn.

You can place all turrets around the creep path and they will attack the creep. Once killed, creeps will drop materials. Click those materials to pick them up, and use them to craft processed materials for turret upgrades.

Once the number of creeps you’ve killed reaches the displayed amount (highlighted in red), you can proceed to the next level. Please click ‘Next Stage’ to enter the next stage.

Once you have processed materials, you can click on the turret and select to use the corresponding processed materials (highlighted in red) to upgrade it.

Notes

1. To verify the “Play 10 minutes game” tasks in FOCG Summer, you need to close the game then click verification.

2. Click E to turn the turrets around.

3. Right-click on the turret to cancel its placement.

4. Bullets fired from the turret will be blocked by walls.

5. If you find it hard to conquer the next stage, stay in the current stage to collect resources and update your turrets.

Blade Games Announced the $2.4 million seed funding round co-led by PalmTreeCrew Crypto and IOSG Ventures

Blade Games has successfully closed our $2.4 million seed funding round. The round is co-led by PTC Crypto and IOSG Ventures, with participation from Bonfire Union Ventures, Animoca Ventures, Mantle, ForesightX, Formless Capital, Public Works, Puzzle Ventures, K300 Ventures, Signum Capital, UOB Venture Management and others.

Highlighting the Modular ZK Game Engine

Blade Games is building a modular zk game engine that allows C++, Go, Rust, C# developers to quickly build onchain games that has actual frame rates. We push state differences as ZKPs onchain and verify them on any L2s

Games built with Blade Game’s zk game engine can run their game logic in a zkVM, and push the state differences onchain as zkSNARK proofs, which then gets verified on L2s. The ZK game engine currently can process up to 12–15 frames per second, with proof batching features to be released soon. The engine is currently supporting a variety of game studio clients building survival (0xPioneer), tower defense(Dune Factory), RPG and roguelike deck building games.

We Build on the Best

Current games are built on @DelphinusLab zkwasm, with future plans to support @RiscZero and other zkVMs. On the DA layer choices, we have plans to support @AvailProject , @0G_labs , @eigenlayer , @BNBChainDevs’s Greenfield.

Dune Factory Private Test Gameplay Guide

Resources and Items

Stove, your main base which you need to defend and where you store the resources you picked up.

Walls, Blocks the enemies’ path and creates a new creep route.

Laser Turret, Attacks the creeps in a single direction.

Assembler, Helps crafts items when resources flow into them through the conveyor.

Conveyor, Carries the items but does not carry the creeps to the end point.

Area Slow Turret, Slows creeps within a radius.

Area Damage, attack enemies in surrounding areas

Gold Coin, will be dropped randomly from a dead creep. The Gold Coin is an important resource to craft buildings

Silver Coin, will be dropped randomly from a dead creep. The Silver Coin is an important resource to craft buildings

Chip, will be dropped randomly from a dead creep. The Chip is an important resource to craft buildings

How to Play Dune Factory

Check your current buildings

Start laying your building (circled in red) around the black line which is the creep’s walking route. The other icons on the bottom taskbar are your resources indicators that can be used to create more buildings.

Craft new buildings

Start creating Laser Robot on the left of the screen and once they are completed, they will show up on the bottom building bar. You can see your crafting queue at the bottom of the craft bar.

Strategically place the turrets

You can lay the Laser Robot around the creep route and they will attack the creeps. Once killed, the creeps will drop gold which you can pick up to create more buildings. You can either click the gold dropped or put in conveyor belts which will move them to the stove to be stored.

Area slow will slow down the enemy running past them, while putting down boxes will create a new route for the creeps.

Let the hunt begin

Click the play button on the top right of the screen and the monsters will start to spawn (Reminder: do not click on the challenge button as you need to collect enough resources before starting the challenge).

Start the challenge

After you have collected enough money and have enough buildings, you can click on the challenge button on the right and the second creep wave will start. The creeps will spawn from the left side of the map.

Pause whenever you want

You can let the creeps walk pass first and click the pause button on the top right of the screen to pause to see what route the creeps will take. Then start building your new defenses.

Play the next level

After you successfully defend against the second wave, you will unlock level 2 of the game. Use “WASD” keys to navigate to the next level.

Redeploy your defenses

You can pause the game again and start preparing your defenses for the level 2 creeps. You can right click the buildings circled so they will be back in your inventory and you can use them to defend against the level 2 creeps attacking your level 2 stove. “Do not worry once you unlocked level 2 the creeps in level 2 will only focus on your level 2 stove and will not attack your level 1 stove”

Keep going

Repeat the process to defend your stove bases for each level where the monsters get faster and stronger so you will need to be prepared with enough defenses and resources. Good luck adventurer and I hope you have a great time playing Dune Factory.

You can left click on the assembler and let it craft buildings at the same time you other buildings are being craft on the right side craft bar.
