They are becoming increasingly popular as more people start to invest in cryptocurrencies. But what exactly is a crypto wallet with multiple addresses and how can it help you manage your digital assets? Let’s take a look.

What Is A Crypto Wallet With Multiple Addresses?

A crypto wallet with multiple addresses is essentially an online wallet that allows users to create, store, and manage multiple digital currency accounts from the same application.

It means that users can have many wallet addresses associated with one account, acting independently from each other. This makes it easier to keep track of different types of transactions and also helps protect users from potential cyber attacks, by making it harder for hackers to access all of their funds at once.

How Can One Wallet Have Multiple Addresses?

One of the most secure ways to store cryptocurrency is through a wallet that uses seed phrases and private keys. A seed phrase, also known as a mnemonic phrase or recovery phrase, is a random set of words used to generate a unique cryptographic key. When combined with an algorithm, this phrase can be used to create one or more private keys.

The example of cryptographic keys generated from a random seed phrase / Source: IanColeman.io/bip39

Simply put, one seed phrase is a vault for multiple private keys, each tagged to one individual address. These wallets have distinct public and private keys but are accessed with one seed phrase.

⚠️ The public key (wallet address) is derived from a private key, but the rule doesn’t work backward: it is impossible to decode the private key knowing the public key. That is why private keys and a seed phrase should be kept extremely safe.

Some Examples of Crypto Wallets With Multiple Addresses

One of the most used crypto wallet apps supporting multiple addresses is MetaMask. It allows for setting up an endless amount of accounts accessed with the same seed phrase due to the algorithm described above.

Source: MetaMask

With MetaMask, it’s easy to seamlessly move between the accounts. Yet, as long as MetaMask secret recovery phrase opens access to all of the associated private keys, the seed phrase safety should be the user’s main concern.

Arctic Wallet is also working on introducing a similar feature to make your crypto journey as convenient as possible. Follow our Twitter to get the update first-hand and have a chance to vote for new functions to add.

Benefits of Having Multiple Wallets

Using a crypto wallet with multiple addresses has several advantages over using a single address.

✅ Convenience

It makes managing your digital assets much simpler since you only need to log into one account instead of having to manage several different ones. This also saves time since you don’t have to constantly switch back and forth between wallet apps or platforms.

✅ Control

Having multiple addresses also allows you to keep better track of your spending since each address will be associated with a specific purpose or type of transaction. You can create new addresses for endless use cases: for instance, separate ones for short-term and longer-term holdings; minting NFTs; connecting to dApps; regular payments; etc.

✅ Privacy

It’s also reasonable to have an isolated wallet to receive smaller sums to avoid exposure to addresses with more funds in there.

✅ Security

Finally, using a multi-address wallet also gives you additional security since having separate addresses means that even if someone does gain access to one account, they won’t be able to get access to all of them at once, which reduces the risk significantly.

Conclusion

By now, you should have a better understanding of what crypto wallets with multiple addresses are and why they can be beneficial for managing your digital assets. Using a multi-address wallet simplifies asset management while also providing added security against potential cyber threats. If you’re looking for an easy and secure way to keep track of your cryptocurrency investments, this might just be the right solution for you!

But how to decide which cryptocurrencies are worth buying? The answer is always ‘DYOR’. When you start in crypto, you hear this a lot. But what does that even mean? How do you do your own research?

Let’s finally uncover points to analyze in order to make a reasonable decision on whether to purchase a specific token or not and some tools to help you with that.

Source: Arctic Wallet App

What is DYOR?

DYOR basically means proper research a person performs to avoid relying on someone’s preconceived opinions regarding a certain crypto project and cryptocurrency. The goal is to approach crypto investment with a cool head and avoid FOMO & hype influence.

Due diligence in crypto means researching the fundamentals of the project behind the token:

👉 to make sure the token is backed by a sustainable project that is able to keep the token value up;

👉 to evaluate the risks;

👉 to spot rug pulls and pump-and-dump schemes not to get scammed and REKT.

Analyzing Crypto Projects in 6 Steps

Let’s divide the project analysis into the six most vital components to check before investing in any cryptocurrency. What questions should be answered prior to deciding to buy any token?

1️⃣ Value of the project

First, it’s good to zoom out and read the website and white paper to get insights on the project’s overall mission:

Does the project offer a unique solution to a real-world problem? If the team claims to somehow “change the future of crypto” and gives no clear indication how, that’s truly suspicious.

Is it a copycat of another crypto startup? Is the approach unique? And if not, how it’s better than competitors in a similar segment?

What use cases does the token have? — What makes or will make people buy and utilize it, generate transactions, and want to hold long-term?

2️⃣ Analyzing Documentary

Does it have a whitepaper and roadmap at all? No-whitepaper policy isn’t serious.

Are there reports or regular updates on milestones already hit? Or it’s all about promises, missed deadlines, and no real action.

What development stage the project is in right now? And more importantly, are there any long-term plans in the roadmap showing how determined the team is to deliver?

3️⃣ Understanding token economics

Tokenomics is the imperative section in the white paper. It gives an insight on tokens supply; market capitalization; share of tokens given to the team members, investors, and general public; and so on. The token with poor token economics is NGMI — almost predestined to fail.

Some questions to ask here:

Is the token release and distributing schedule long and slow enough to avoid creating sell pressure?

Is the percentage of overall supply given to developers and private investors too big a chunk to cause troubles?

Are enough tokens allocated to incentivize the network participants?

Are there sufficient amounts allocated to fund the project development?

Axie Infinity Tokenomics / Source: CoinGecko

4️⃣ Who’s in the Core Team

Nothing can stop anonymous founders from dumping the project and disappearing with the money. So, we want to see a doxxed (public) team with LinkedIn profile links on the website for further research:

Do the team members have relevant experience in the field? Were they involved in successful tech/finance/crypto product launches in the past?

Are chief executives experienced enough in supervising the projects not to ruin it all with faulty leadership decisions?

Are there advisors knowledgeable in relevant spheres that can add up value to the team?

5️⃣ Community

Are community members passionate about the project?

Do they participate in explicit discussions?

On that, it’s worth reading into the comments: constructive arguments are a way better indicator than ‘good project’, ‘X coin to the moon’, or ‘wen Lambo’-type comments. These may be shillers paid to imitate some activity.

Is the team in contact with the community? Do they welcome feedback and react to positive criticism?

6️⃣ Verification

Does the team spread misinformation?

For example, about being featured on top media outlets like Forbes, Bloomberg, CoinDesk, etc.; or about partnerships without confirmation from the alleged partner. News verification takes a little effort but saves a lot of time in uncovering scammers.

Additional Sources to Help

As pointed out above, the project research should include an in-detail website, white paper, and roadmap analysis. But it’s also valuable to get information from lots of different resources to then make your own decision.

There are some free resources to guide you on the way:

Messari.io, which posts crypto analytical content and financial reports with key metrics and their interpretation;

Coinmarketcap.com and Coingecko.com display price history, tokenomics, ranking, official links, and basic information.

Glassnode.com is sharing on-chain data charts with explanations.

Lunarcrush.com gives an understanding of how the crypto community feels about the project and token.

State of Tezos Q4 2022 / Source: Messari

The Bottom Line

Bear market is a quiet and longish period, yet, perfect for spending it on education and market research. It’s also an opportunity to accumulate gems at lower prices. Doing your due diligence may take up a lot of time but that’s the key to taking wiser unbiased investment decisions.

As we segue into the new year, it’s time to address primary narratives for 2023: big sectors of crypto space to watch out for and see where we’re headed and what to expect. Here are six trends supposedly dominating the crypto market this year, according to the Arctic Wallet team.

The Wave of Decentralization

Since the FTX collapse, crypto holders got a massive reminder to gain more control over their crypto, which resulted in increased trading levels inside decentralized exchanges. In this context, DeFi platforms and DEXs could meet heightened demand.

As for institutional adoption of blockchain, the year 2022 has seen the sparking interest of JP Morgan, Goldman Sachs, and other banking corporations in combining traditional finance with DeFi elements. Another example is PayPal integration into MetaMask wallet to bridge the gap between crypto and fiat.

Looking further, VanEck predicts the trend of decentralized stablecoins offerings. These stablecoins will rely on over-collateralization and community governance to maintain price stability rather than fiat funds. The decentralized crypto wallet sector is also anticipated to grow significantly.

Ethereum Layer-2 on the Rise

With the escalating rates of institutional adoption of blockchain, Ethereum-based networks, including Polygon, Arbitrum, and Optimism, appear to be of primary choice for partnerships due to their scalability. More recent examples are Polygon x Reddit & Visa x StarkNet collaborations.

Shanghai Upgrade to Ethereum planned for March this year will speed up the whole ETH ecosystem even more, considerably expanding the L2 blockchain utility.

Source: Twitter

Web3.0 Gaming & NFT

The year 2022 brought an unprecedented $7 billion investment in blockchain gaming and metaverse projects despite the bear market. Web3 gaming will still be a thing in 2023, especially concerning DeFi and traditional gaming integration. Tech giants like Microsoft and Epic Games showing great interest in the sphere is only the beginning.

Considering NFTs are an immutable part of crypto gaming, non-fungible tokens are not likely to fade into view, especially since NFTs find more real-world use cases. One striking example is the renowned record label Warner Music Group preparing to launch an NFT music streaming platform in collaboration with Polygon.

AI & Machine Learning in crypto

Artificial Intelligence has been another spot of interest since Q4 2022, with the GPT chatbot all over the news. While the application of AI is widely explored in many industries, the crypto sphere has a lot to gain from the technology.

Source: Twitter

The manifold of possible AI use cases in the crypto sector include resolving security issues, improving crypto market analysis, assisting with investment, and expanding the metaverse among others. Undoubtedly, a lot to research.

Bitcoin Recovery 2023

Prepping for Bitcoin Halving 2024

Historically 12 months prior to the Bitcoin halving event, the BTC price started to trend up, which so far happened leading up to every bitcoin halving in history.

Bitcoin price trends during previous halvings / Source: Investopedia

Yet, it’s still not safe to say whether the pattern will work out in the same manner as the crypto winter we exist in is pretty much unprecedented.

Bitcoin price predictions 2023

BTC price predictions by various analytical platforms traditionally share contrasting prognoses.

Business2community analytics stick to a bullish scenario for 2023, speculating the coin price may grow up to $75k provided inflation rates soften anytime soon.

However, the majority of analytics suppose there will be another dip for Bitcoin. Specifically, Cryptopolitan analytics forecast BTC may drop back down to $16,000 per coin before stabilizing at $39,000. The most bearish scenario, for now, is a 50% decline from today’s price resulting in a $10k year-end BTC price.

Land of Regulation

The FTX saga sped up institutional involvement in regulating the crypto sphere. Hence, more clarity and regulations are expected in 2023.

Source: Visual Capitalist

Amidst the depressed macroeconomic picture, governments are considering CBDC and crypto adoption to settle cross-border payments and discover new opportunities. The U.S. Federal Reserve working on central bank digital currencies and Brazil’s comprehensive regulatory framework are few examples signalizing a wider trend for cryptocurrency adoption.

Will crypto go back up in 2023?

It’s almost impossible to predict the future of crypto in the next five years or even a year. The cryptocurrency market always recovers as it moves in circles. The question is when. Hands down, the entirety of 2023 will be of big opportunities and more innovations. As well as lots of volatility and turbulence. Building your own open-minded perspective of things considering all the risks is of primary importance here.

Source: Twitter

Having a zoom class, doing online banking, ordering Uber, and tons of things beyond that are managed conveniently with a single small device.

Crypto is also there for you. But are mobile cryptocurrency wallets safe enough? Is it worth using? Let’s dive right in with our short guide to three essential advantages of using a cryptocurrency wallet app on your phone

1. Making Crypto Easier

Accessibility

According to statistics, over 90% of the worldwide population owns a mobile device, which makes it the easiest way to interact with the blockchain and manage cryptocurrencies for people from all over the world.

Convenience

Like any other wallet, mobile apps grant users access to crypto holdings kept on blockchain and control them rather than literally storing crypto on the device. Yet, unlike desktop apps and web extensions, a blockchain wallet app on your mobile comes in way more convenient to perform transactions from anywhere you are.

Besides, users can access an already existing wallet from their mobile just by knowing the recovery seed phrase (And that’s the major reason to hold on to your seed phrase as if to your dear life and never share or store it online).

Source: Bankmycell.com

2. Enhanced Utility

A mobile crypto wallet is far more advanced than just portable crypto storage as it has multiple features to conveniently manage digital assets.

A single DeFi wallet living on a smartphone keeps multiple addresses within one wallet, enables easier wallet connection to DeFi platforms, and facilitates transactions via an integrated QR code scanner.

Multi-chain mobile wallets open operations on various blockchains and also have handy features such as in-app crypto purchase, instant assets exchange, staking programs, portfolio tracking, and extra decentralized finance features.

With Arctic Wallet, for instance, hodlers exchange crypto without going through KYC directly inside the mobile app. In Arctic, you can also purchase Bitcoin, Solana, Dogecoin, and other top coins and tokens with no practical need to deal with exchanges, this way exposing funds to security risks associated with centralized exchanges.

Source: Arctic Wallet Android App

3. Security Benefits

✅ Ongoing centralized exchange failings are reminders to self-custody crypto holdings. Non-custodial mobile software helps store client-side encrypted keys locally on the device where developers have zero access to any of the data. Making sure your wallet provides private keys in an encrypted way is a major point to ensure the security of assets.

✅ Furthermore, cell phone applications are protected by additional layers of security tools: pin codes, two-factor authentication (2FA), Face ID, and biometrics to prevent anyone from accessing your account if you happen to lose the credentials.

Android Storage System / Source: MIT App Inventor

✅ More importantly, it is a lesser-known fact that applications on smartphones operate on an app-specific isolated memory basis, meaning any app cannot access other files. Hence, hosting the crypto wallet app on mobiles may be even safer than software running on a desktop, which generally lacks this feature.

* Even though, human error risks always pertain. Sticking to robust crypto cybersecurity tips should never be ignored in addition to selecting a credible wallet provider.

Conclusion

Cryptocurrencies were made to hand people complete control over their money. In that regard, a crypto wallet is your own bank, while a mobile wallet is the most effective tool to manage cryptocurrencies from a single device which is always at hand.

Cryptocurrency wallets installed on a mobile perfectly combine usability and security solutions. That’s why we love it and offer Arctic Android App along with Linux, Windows, and macOS desktop apps for the best user experience.

But why has crypto become so much more popular in the past few years?

These days in crypto

Source: Twitter

Bitcoin is down 60%, the crypto market has lost $1.5 trillion of capitalization over a year, Terra Luna crashed in May, recent FTX collapse is in our today’s crypto context. And still, the number of Bitcoin holders only keeps growing and actually hit it’s all-time high.

Let’s pinpoint some reasons why people keep buying crypto regardless of the context by analyzing what people on the internet share about their crypto experience.

Why do people invest in crypto?

People asked “What made you invest in crypto” name at least 3 benefits of cryptocurrencies illustrating why it is the fastest-adopted innovation in the world.

1️⃣ Crypto volatility may be attractive

Source: Quora

According to the Morning Consult July report, the primary goal of investing in cryptocurrencies is to make profits — over 60% of crypto holders hope to find quick side earnings with crypto.

Quite understandable: massive volatility of digital assets is occasionally followed by unprecedented ROIs. Yet, it’s worth reminding over and over again that failing to fully realize the risks is extremely dangerous.

2️⃣ Crypto aids where traditional banking fails

The same report displays that around 40% of people enter the crypto space because they believe in its ability to enhance the banking system or, radically thinking, become a more reliable alternative to it.

Source: Twitter

In our blog, We have not once covered how blockchain solutions take financing to another level. Everyone from anywhere in the world can access crypto using just their mobiles connected to the internet. For some countries with heavily damaged economies that means a lot.

People in Ghana use cryptocurrencies to help them out of poverty caused by 40% inflation rates, or Argentinians with a 155% inflated economy are left to rely on cryptocurrencies to pay their bills.
