Messier 32, believed by astronomers as the remnant of the galaxy M32p after the collision with Andromeda

M32p is a hypothetical former galaxy that collided with the Andromeda galaxy. It collided with Andromeda 2 billion years ago. It was the third or fourth largest galaxy in the Local Group. The satellite galaxy Messier 32 is most likely the remains of M32p's galactic core.
