Couldn’t find anyone whose song I wanted to do, then remembered that David Clayton-Thomas, who was lead singer for Blood Sweat & Tears from 1968 to 1971 and again from 1975 to 1977, died on June 24 in Toronto. Condolences to his family, frinds and fans. “Lucretia MacEvil”is fron 1970’s Blood Sweat & Tears 3. It was written by Clayton-Thomas and reached #10 in Canada and #29 in the US in 1971,
Blues harmonica player and singer James Cotton was born on this day in 1935. He was a member of the Muddy Waters band before going out as a solo act. He always made sure you got the message such as in this performance of Little Walter’s “Creeper,” from 20 years ago.

I will post a list of six (6) prompts to my blog between noon and 6 PM Eastern time on Tuesday.
You have until the following Tuesday at 6 PM to respond to at least one of the prompts. (Traditionally, Thursday has been the cutoff day.)
Choose a prompt and reply to it on your blog. Then, leave a comment on this post with the URL of the post on your blog. You may leave a pingback to your blog, if you feel comfortable doing that.
As time permits, read and leave comments on some of the other participants’ entries.

I’ve chosen WXOX, 1250 AM in Bay City, as the representative. The frequency has changed formats, owners, and call letters over the years, and also simulcasts on FM, a common thing for radio stations to do these days. It’s current call letters are WJMK (last used by a Chicago radio station in the early 2000’s) and broadcasts Weigel’s “MeTV Oldies” signal that originates in Chicago.
Here is what WXOX was playing on July 4, 1964.
