I was once told after a job interview that I didn't project enough confidence to convince the committee that I could be a leader in my field. And that as a woman I needed to be more careful about that.
This thread is an excellent demonstration of the power & potential of allies. Sincere thanks, @dlowd, for patiently explaining how you think about these things. I wish it had been enough for multiple women/POC to do so, but sometimes people just need to hear it from a white dude.
Hey @OpenAI@sama etc., how are you communicating these biases in the models underlying your API? How have you derisked the widespread use of your API proliferating and amplifying these biases?

Bad take. Lots of folks from historically oppressed communities have engaged with Yann on here in perfect civility, and without escalation. Don't make excuses for him at their expense.
