Statistics Iceland has published the results of its survey on the use of ICT and e-commerce in Icelandic enterprises. The survey was conducted earlier this year.

Fish catches in October 2008
Total catch of Icelandic vessels in October 2008 was 91,411 tonnes compared to 98,133 tonnes in October 2007. Demersal species accounted for 40 thousand tonnes, thereof cod 11 thousand tonnes, redfish 11 thousand tonnes, haddock 7 thousand tonnes and saithe 6 thousand tonnes.

External trade, preliminary figures for October 2008
According to preliminary figures for October 2008 the value of exported goods amounted to ISK 47,000 million fob and the value of imported goods amounted to ISK 36,400 million fob. Thus, there was a trade surplus of ISK 10,600 million in October 2008, according to the preliminary figures, calculated on fob value.
