When communities come together, real impact happens.
More than 300 residents joined us at EmPOWER the Block in Castalia/Magnolia for a day of connection, learning, and access to resources that can help lower energy costs and strengthen households. Through partnerships with Lowe’s and TVA, neighbors connected with tools, information, and opportunities that can make a difference long after the event ends.
Building stronger neighborhoods starts with connecting residents to the resources. By bringing resources directly into neighborhoods, we’re helping more residents access opportunities that support long-term stability and success.

Today, we celebrated the unveiling of James A. Bridges, Sr. Avenue at the intersection of Mississippi Boulevard and Bullington Avenue, honoring a Memphian whose legacy of service, leadership, and entrepreneurship has left a lasting mark on our city.
A veteran, educator, businessman, community advocate, and faithful servant leader, Mr. Bridges has spent decades investing in Memphis and its people. From breaking barriers as a business owner to mentoring future generations and serving countless organizations, his impact continues to be felt across our community.
May this street designation serve as a lasting tribute to a life dedicated to service, opportunity, and uplifting others.
