Welcome to the British Horror Studio Welcome to the British Horror Studio, a creative house devoted to the rebirth of classic British horror and the traditions of romantic Gothic cinema. Rooted in British theatre, performance and storytelling, we are inspired by the great horror studios of the past, from Hammer and Amicus to the wider traditions of British cinema, folklore and the Gothic imagination. Our ambition is not simply to produce individual films, but to build a lasting studio culture: a home for filmmakers, actors, artists and audiences united by a shared love of beauty, mystery and the strange. Through the revived Amicus Productions, the work of Hex Studios, and the educational efforts of Fife Creative Studios, we are developing a repertory company of performers and filmmakers, cultivating new screen talent and building a recognisable identity shaped by atmosphere, sincerity and emotional truth. Our films draw upon the haunted spirit of these islands: their folklore, their old cinemas, their villages and cities, their churches and coastlines, and the strange stories that linger in memory. We believe horror can be poetic as well as terrifying, romantic as well as tragic, and that cinema still has the power to inspire wonder.
