Rightsizing Overview
Portland Public Schools is undertaking a districtwide rightsizing process to better align our schools, programs, and resources with the needs of today’s students and the realities shaping our future.
This work is guided by direction from the PPS Board of Education, which has charged the Superintendent with developing a long-term plan to address declining enrollment, rising costs, and the sustainable use of our school facilities, including potential program changes, boundary adjustments, and how we use our buildings.
This effort builds on prior work and reflects a broader, systemwide approach to strengthening stability, equity, and access across all communities.
We know this work carries real impact. Our commitment is to move forward with transparency, care, and a clear focus: Rightsize. Right Support. Right for Students.
