First time this has happened as a seller of 5+ years
First time this has happened as a seller of 5+ years

PayPal recently closed the case in the buyer’s favor earlier today, so I feel moved to post about the bizarre circumstance I’m in.

I’m a hobbyist that posts records I’m trying to sell and I have a 100% seller rating with over 70+ ratings. I recently sold someone a Lady Gaga record for $70, shipped it within 48 hours of them placing the order, and provided tracking. When they got the record, they opened a case with PayPal saying that they only received leaflets (?!) and no actual vinyl, and got their money refunded.

Of course, I don’t have a video of me packing the record into the box for shipping, but I have a copy of my receipt from USPS when I shipped it (as well as three other records which were received with no issue).

Looking back, the buyer had no previous feedback and that might have been an issue - but what would you have done differently?

How does Discogs determine how often to send you notifications?
How does Discogs determine how often to send you notifications?

I have plenty of stuff on my wantlist and it seems like multiple times a day there's a notification that some of the albums on my wantlist is now for sale. It's actually always the same 3-4 records the keep showing up and giving me notifications.

Is this just Discogs repeatedly sending notifications or is this just sellers constantly taking down and relisting their stuff? If it's the latter I'm going to start blocking people or just taking these items off my list then. I don't care how many times you list some rare tape I'm not buying it for 150$. It would be nice if Discogs would just alert me if actual rare stuff went for sale instead of the same 3 albums.
