Wii Series Olympics (WSO) is back for 2026! It's an LTA competition across the Wii Series of games. To take part, simply submit to the speedrun.com leaderboards while each game is active during the competition.

## What is the Wii Series Olympics?

Runners have two weeks to complete runs of two games in the series. They get to choose the categories they want via a vote held in the community Discord server. These can be existing categories or unique challenges devised by the speedrun moderators.

Break time barriers to score ranking points. Bronze, Silver and Gold are fixed times, starting off beginner-friendly at Bronze. Platinum is a dynamic time barrier set at the 1st place runner's time.

## Which games are included?

The Wii Series covers the first-party games branded under the "Wii..." name by Nintendo. These include the Wii Sports series, Wii Party, Wii Play, Wii Fit and Wii Music.

## $1,000 prize pool

WSO 2026 will have the largest Wii Series prize pool to date, with $1,000 in guaranteed prizes. Your 5 best performances across WSO will form your total score. There's also a leaderboard that combines your 4 best sub-series scores: one from a Wii Sports Series game, one from Wii Play Series, one from Wii Fit Series, and one from Wii Party Series.

## I only own one Wii Series game, can I still take part?

Yes! We've adapted the 2026 format to be more accommodating to people who only want to play a single game. There's $30 to be won for placing 1st in each of the 12 games, and if you place in the top 6, you could be joining us for a brand new event...

## Wii Series Invitational Qualifiers

The 4 most popular games in WSO 2026 will qualify for the Wii Series Invitational, a shortened LTA where runners have just 1-2 hours to complete runs. The top 6 players on each qualifying game's WSO leaderboard will be invited.

## Getting Started

The Wii Series is an accessible set of games for speedrunning, with plenty of resources to help you get going. You can find more info about the event in the community Discord server, or simply submit to the Wii Series Olympics categories as they pop up on SRC during each period. We'd love to see you there!

The $1,000 Wii Series Olympics 2026 - LTA Series

Fading Echo is a desert-punk action-adventure where water is your weapon, your movement, and your way out. You play as One, a young Legend who can shift between human and aquatic forms, slipping through cracks as a droplet, surging through pipes, crashing from above as a water bomb. Mix water with lava, toxic waste, and Paradox corruption to trigger explosive chain reactions. Every element reacts, and each encounter escalates.

The Cindervault in which the demo takes place, contains the game’s first “Source”, an ancient forge buried in the remains of a long-forgotten civilization. It's where One first learns what her powers can really do, guided by her mother Rahne and her aetheric companion Vellum.

This is a game built for routing. The systems are deep, the movement is liquid (literally), and the optimization ceiling is high. If you're the kind of runner who likes finding the line nobody else has found yet, the Cindervault is waiting.

- Timing: PC runs are encouraged to use Load-Removed Time (LRT) via the official LiveSplit autosplitter.
- Cash Prize-eligible runs must be livestreamed with a VOD submission.

# The Format

NEStiny is a gauntlet of 4 very different speedruns, each showcasing a different quality of what NES runs have to offer.

Unlike other races, NEStiny doesn't use a single timer for the whole event. Each game is timed individually, racers' times are compared head-to-head, and points are distributed accordingly. This keeps things balanced across games of wildly different length and difficulty - losing seconds in a short game matters just as much as losing minutes in a long one. The competitor with the most points across all 4 games will be crowned the victor!

Estimated total runtime: ~2 hours.

If you get past the hurdles the game throws at you, you can eventually land a record label deal! Your song will skyrocket and you'll be at the top of the pops. Movies and radio will buy the rights to your songs, and you'll be on track to release your album and play for thousands of people in an outdoor venue.
