Each season since 1878 has its own page with illustrations of all the kits worn that year. From 1971/72, we have listed the kits worn in individual games and in pre-season.
There are several games in which we have yet to identify United's kit. The list of missing kits can be viewed or downloaded.

Can you help?
We are desperate for help with the design of the graphics for the kits worn by United since 2021/22 season.
If you are familiar with Adobe Photoshop and can help, please contact us so that we can resume updating this site.
We can provide details of all the kits worn by United but we need a graphic designer to produce the kits. We are considering the future of this site and having help with the graphics is hugely important. Please help if you can.

November 18th 2025
Sean Moran has confirmed the kits worn by both United and the All Stars XI in John Aston's tesimonial in April 1956.
May 24th 2025
Two of the kits worn by United in friendlies against Stromgodset IF and Brann Bergen during 1977/78 have been identified by Sean Moran and Simen T. Aasvestad. The page for that season has been updated with the two kits.

Sergie has completed more of the kits from the 2021/22 season and we have updated that page.
August 18th 2024
More kits from 2021/22 have been added as Sergie works through the backlog. All the home kits have now been uploaded along with the change kits.

Great News! A new, talented graphic designer has joined unitedkits and has already completed several of the home kits from the 2021/22 season. The site has been updated and we will add new kits as soon as we can.

The ever-diligent Sean Moran has discovered several of the kits that we had been unable to trace from the Seventies and Eighties. These games were against Middlesbrough and Bristol City in 1976/77, Port Vale in 1981/82, Hearts in 1986/87 and at Walsall in 1987/88.
Sean has also discvovered a new kit variant worn by United in the friendly against Swansea in 1985/86.

Sean Moran has sent copies of press photos that have helped identify the missing kits worn by United in the games against Leeds United in 1977/78 and Cambridge United in 1994/95. Both those seasons' pages have been updated. Cheers, Sean.
