Anka Kusu Raqs

15th annual Dancefest New Jersey is this Sunday, April 7th.  It will be an exhilarating day of dance performances featuring the fabulous teachers and students from past seminars and new dance friends as well! The event runs from 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at our spacious new dance location: Brick township First Aid & Rescue Squad. Refreshments & surprises!



This wonderful afternoon of dance features guest dancers: Miriam of Anka Kusu ~ Chadia ~ Yasmeen al Qahira ~ Elisheva ~ Joe Williams ~ Ayshe ~ Audie ~ plus troupes galore, including: Mystic Moonlight Dancers ~ Chadia & the Caravan Dancers ~ Desert Moon Dancers ~ Ayshe's Dance Troupe, Tashira's Dulce Saidi troupe, and other fabulous guest artists!



Costs: $15 for performers; $20 for guests

Remember, dancer call ins for Spring Caravan are Saturday March 2 for live bands and Sunday March 3 for your cd music. Both call ins start at 9am East Coast time.

When Superstorm Sandy blew into town Anka Kusu had to cancel their performance at Roxy and Dukes.... but we've been added to the awesome lineup for November's Belly Dance Night..... and it's THIS Sunday!!!

Doors open at 6pm.... come have a burger and a beer and watch some awesome belly dance performances... then stick around and jam with the band, or get your own shimmy on!

Rakkasah is an amazing festival that is open to the general public and is suitable for people of all ages. So, if you love Belly Dance, would like to learn about Middle Eastern Dance and music or if you simply want to come see Anka Kusu (and all the other amazing performances) - this is the show for you!

Anka Kusu is a troupe that includes both musicians and dancers in a performance that evokes sounds and images of long ago and far away. See their performance at 2:40pm on SUNDAY October 14th on Rakkasah's stage.

- Don't forget the event runs all weekend, from Friday at 7pm until Sunday at 8pm with workshops, shopping and of course performances!
