Anyway, I thought I'd give a heads up - I'm leaving in the morning to spend the weekend on an island with my boyfriend, so I will unfortunately be unable to post. I should be back Sunday evening, and I hope my absence doesn't impede anybody's posting. Feel free to move Finn along as the boarding progresses.

Hey all! I was just surfing around randomly, as I am wont to do on nights like these, and I came across this useful site: http://www.kipar.org/piratical-resources/pirate-money.html

It has a good breakdown of the different currencies and a general idea of different annual salaries and what you might expect to pay for different goods and/or services. I know that's always a concern of mine, so I thought I'd share the love. The rest of the site is helpful as to weapons and some ship generalities as well.

Anyone else have good reference sites to add? I think I'll go through my bookmarks and add some more as I find them. :D

Just a random suggestion (I know I'm new, but I was thinking about it already before I applied). There's actually another possible position. It's known as a bilger. Their job is to pump out any water that's gotten into the ship due to damage. I'm not really sure how the pumps themselves work or even how they look, but they're a little important because a ship can't sail as well or as fast if it's got too much bilge (if it has taken on too much water, that is). A large hindrance, especially when you're trying to catch up to other ships to raid.

Another minor position, but something that may be taken into consideration...?

Well, at the moment, Evann's not part of the crew yet, much like Will, but he will be shortly. If anyone wants to know a little more about me or my character (probably not), or if you'd like to comment about anything at all, then leave a message =)

I may have missed it but did the Captain ever say where we were going next after the Rina? I feel like I missed that memo. Did he want to go on to Spain after all?

In honour of the official start of The Adventures of the Astyrian, I am rewatching Pirates of the Caribbean. Why don't you all do the same? *Grins*

I noticed that our fine captain has already made some ill remarks about the present navigator. I wasn't around then, but I don't mind Jay Scarborough being called a fill'e bagassa navigator and am more than happy to come up with a reason for the Captain to have such wonderful praises for his efforts. It'll give me something to elaborate on in my first journal entry.

After all, the boy has plenty of room to grow and improve and it doesn't hurt for him to take a blow to his ego from time to time. Of course, I'd like to confer with belifan to make sure what I come up with is ok since inevitably it would result in a conflict between the navigator and the captain, but nothing so terrible that would get him booted or killed yet.
