This comm. has been dead forever!!! And I remember how much I loved it when it started, so I thought I'd post now I have an lj account. I hope people are still around to see it! :)
As there simply is not enough crying!fic in SGA, I was forced to write some myself, so here goes. As I'm no native speaker and don't have a beta yet, any constructive criticism is highly welcome!
Title:Hope Rating: G Pairing: Gen (as gen as the episode anyway....) Spoilers: Tag for 506 "The Shrine" Summary: Everything dead coming back to life hurts A/N:Even though by now everyone and their mum have done a tag for The Shrine, this kind of came and was written within an hour and, what the hell, one more can't hurt.....BTW "Everything dead coming back to life hurts" is a quote from Toni Morrison's lovely book "Beloved".
Crying Japanese boyband Would you like to see a Japanese boyband crying? Of course you would! Laugh all you may at the hilarious all-white outfits (especially Mori's crop-top) and their badly pronounced English, but it's hard not to go "awwww" when Nakai starts crying and the song's barely begun. Afterwards he can barely talk... After eight years together, Mori was leaving SMAP. It was 1996, and it seemed like the end of the world.
Can I just say that I love this comm hard? I have always had a thing for crying men and it's lovely to see I'm not alone with this obsession. So, cool idea, keep rocking!
And because I enjoyed the SGA fic recs a lot here are a few more:
I wrote a Jared/Jensen CW RPS ficlet for girlmostlikely's hurt/comfort meme (great for one's vulnerable men in general kink!), with messily crying Jensen, and aynslee said I should link it here! You can find it here, and I'd say it's a hard R.
Jon Stewart Hi, I've been lurking here a few days, but I stumbled across something I had to share here. It's the intro of the first Daily Show after the World Trade Center attacks, and Jon Stewart is struggling to get through his intro.
I don't know how OK it is to post this, considering the reason he's crying, but it's a great speech and he's gorgeous doing it.
Brian Kinney and Ned It's always more interesting and alluring when a man that you can't imagine crying cries. This is why when Dean Winchester cries I can't help but get teary myself. Same thing goes for Brian Kinney.
And, as a bonus, have some Lee Pace as Ned. Chuck is a heartless bitch because only heartless bitches could make a man like that cry. ( But do you hate me?Collapse )
Jason Dohring & Ryan Hansen. You can't have a com about crying men without posting some Logan from Veronica Mars!! And now with bonus Dick (Casablancas, you perves)!!
My man Jack No community, conversation or even individual thought process around Crying Men can go by without representation from one Jack Shepherd. My man Jack is a gold medal cryer.
Damon Lindelof, one of Losts creators and executive producers had this to say about Matthew Fox's portrayal of Cry Baby Jack:
"Matthew has elevated crying to an art, where somehow it's a form of badassness. He never cries because he's sad. He cries because he wants to hit someone. I can't think of any other hero characters who have cried. If Patrick Dempsey cried on Grey's Anatomy, people would be like, 'Meredith, do not waste your time with that crybaby." (Source: TIME Magazine, February 2007)
I love Damon's enthusiasm and hard line that Jack cries cos he want to hurt people. But seriously, has he even *watched* the show? Sure Jack is our big damm hero, but Jack is one big daddy-issue-sportin woobie.
So, is he a Badass Bawler? Or Wussy Woobie? Decide for yourself. ( Read more...Collapse )
And that's just PART of Season 1! I haven't even got to the REAL blubbering! Oh Jack, this community was MADE for you!
Introductory picspam Pretty, pretty post. Lots and lots of images. Spoilers to the end of S3 Supernatural, Devour, the first few episodes of Friday Night Lights, season 2 of Dark Angel, and various episodes of Stargate SG1.
Picspam is heavy on the Winchesters, because... well. Those boys sure do cry a lot.
Welcome post Hello all, and welcome to cryingmen: a celebration of tearful boys in fandom. \o/
I thought about calling the comm 'Boohoo_woohoo' or 'Snot is Hot', but good sense and laziness prevailed.
I hope to see many fics, artworks, recs and picspams show up here, because I know a lot of people in fandom love it when our boys get their sob on. It's not just me, right?
RIGHT?
Keep your eyes peeled for a multifandom introductory picspam, which should be showing up sometime in the next few hours.
In the meantime: GO FORTH AND PIMP, you guys. All fandoms and all genres are welcome. The more people show up here, the more goodies I'll we'll be able to wallow in.
