So this is the EXPLODING GAS CAN community, it was sugested I make this because everyone I know has a little creative talent of some sort. From comics and art work to music and writing talents. This is to showcase that.
EGC was the company title I first used in 2002 for my movie THE CHILDREN OF UNDERTOW, and now its all over everything I do.
HISTORY
My name's PHILLIP STEVENS and for some time now, more years than I can remember, I've been writing and directing movies. I've worked with various formats through the years; beta - vhs - 8mm - cvhs - digital and it's all helped me develope as a director,editor,actor and so fourth. My dreams, are not to get noticed but my films noticed. No, I don't need to be rich or famous though I'd like to, I just have this need to make movies to best of my abilities, constantly trying to outdo myself. So yeah, hopefully one day people will see a film i've made and say "That was pretty damn cool"
I make movies for a number of reasons, I love movies in general and I have a passion for creating and manifesting films from nothing but a few pages of hand scribbled script. I live for the whole filmmaking experience, it's just an escape from the real world and chance to play god and create a world of my own where strange things happen.
ROBERT RODRIQUEZ - LUCIO FULCI - GEORGE ROMERO - TOM SAVINI. Although these names are my biggest mentors, I DO NOT attempt to imitate them like everyone seems to do for a quick buck. I'd just rather be remembered for one decent film than a horde load of bad ones.
A thanks to RONNIE SORTOR and BORDERLINE ENTERTAINMENT for their films that canipulted my ideals further with encouragement. (they be good people mon)
I hate BRAD TWIG (not really, i really love him), a talentless little hack of a so called Company AFTERMATH productions, which is merely a CON company, if you want to call it a company. (he fucked me over, little bitch man will BITE DUST)
TYPE O NEGATIVE with PETER STEELE, his music that gives me the freedom I need from myself.
BRET EASTON ELLIS for his amazing novels(Rules of Atraction, American Psycho) which if anything else have made a massive impact on my own thinking and writing.
UNICRON for being hell's own design of pure evil living in a body of metal, exsisting only to devour planets for total Universal domination!!!
I like solitude, although I have a love/hate relationship with the city, very dirty and overly clustered but it's great film backdrop.
