Fiery Inception Plotting

Hey guys,

Just had an idea for a fun subplot at some point.

As it says in Medea's profile her father was a death eater, and he was killed in the war. Knowing the character of the  man I expect it was by an order  member rather than by the death eaters, as he was stupidly loyal to them.

Currently Medea has no idea what happened and she isn't  really going to bother mounting a full investigation. Partly because that would mean  finding out about what her father did as a death eater, which she'd rather not, and partly because her protestations of innocence are more convincing the less she has to do with her familly even then dead ones.

However, i'd find it interesting if  Medea stumbled across who killed her father. It would make for some interesting conflict as she struggled between her condemnation of what he represented and the fact that  somewhere  underneath it all he was still her father and she still loved him. She may stumble across it during her investigation of what happened to Aurin's mother and sister.

So does anyone want to have killed a death eater during the second war?

FYI - Severus Snape is looking to 'hire' help with the Viewer project for Finnigan's. He will soon be working full-time and more at Hogwarts, plus his potions-commitment to the werewolf clinic and Remus' pack. It would be unrealistic to assume that he would be able to also have time to manufacture complex magical devices and the necessary potions component as well.

He's also not bloody likely to 'allow' anyone else to 'take over' manufacturing of the thing now that he's got a 'contract'. heh.

So.

He's NOT advertising for this position at the moment because he's a paranoid bastard who doesn't trust anyone. If you, as a Mun, are interested in having your character be a part of this project, finagle your way into the notice of any of the folks who are part of the project so that they can 'refer' your character to Severus.

As this project is not 'secret' by any means, and does not directly have public connection to the clandestine werewolf-clinic stuff, he will not be horribly picky about the political/moral leanings of potential employees. However, he will insist on a magically binding and very strict 'noncompete clause' because of his commitment to Finnigan's, and he will be very exacting as to absolute and total perfection of the work itself. (Not a place for Neville Longbottom, for example! *grin*)

Characters with a history of excellent marks in Potions and Ancient Runes will be preferred. Characters willing to put up with Snape's pissy attitude and exacting standards even more so. LOL

Snape is already established as being willing to 'hire' and work with werewolves, Death Eaters and all manner of 'undesireables', so don't rule yourself out (unless you are Katie Bell and/or have a burning need to call him "Severus" to his face without his express permission to do so! LOL)

Seamus Finnigan, Hannah Abbot, Dean Thomas, Aurin Helm, Juneau Connors and Ginny Weasley all know of Snape's involvement in the manufacturing process and also that he will soon be needing additional 'staff'. Cozy up to one of these guys and get yourself referred if you want to be 'considered' for the job(s) - I figure he'll probably hire several people, depending on Fuji's intention for speed/scope of expansion for the need of the actual viewer-devices.

Here, then, within this discussion, we would like you to ask these questions and we will try to find equitable answers that blend well with our standing story-lines without disrupting existing plots.

So, these are just initial quickie-thoughts and brainstorming ideas. Let the discussion commence!

• August 14th, 2001 – New Quibbler article concerning Shingleton’s personal life and credibility as minister, comparison to Scridgemoer and Fudge.
• September 1st- 2001 – New Quibbler article concerning the WCU and auror departments direct connection to Shingleton and conspiracy theory about Shingleton using them in likeness to Umbridge’s Inquisitorial Squad
• September 14th, 2001- Exposé on Shingleton’s personal activities and collections of illegal things, such as lethifolds, his personal theories on the registry (plus extensive criticism), his racial beliefs…
• October 1st, 2001- Another call for impeachment of Shingleton based on other articles. Perhaps public support rally for impeachment again….
• October 14th, 2001 – After months of harassment and investigation, Luna’s pseudonym is discovered and her inflammatory nature directly addressed by the ministry, ministry tries to hack her credibility, to discredit her or whatever. Another article criticizing Shingleton and his goon squads lack of actions concerning the true criminals of the world, Lestrange, Malfoy, ect ect.
• Sometime before November 1st, 2001 – Luna’s father arrested for printing anti-government propaganda… ect… completely false charges of course to try to intimidate Luna to stop her smear campaign.
o Several other options are also available, trashing the Quibbler offices, official legislation making the Quibbler illegal for slanderous accustations…. Ect ect. I’m open to ideas.
o Luna, of course, being steadfast in her beliefs isn’t going to cave to political pressure. She would possibly gather other support for a special edition of the Quibbler on the first… directly calling for the immediate ousting of Shingleton and several high ranking ministry officials who are corrupt…
o Call to end registry legislation… ect. Ministry puts a cork in the Quibbler by ‘anonymous’ and ‘accidental’ destruction of the Lovegood house and nearly kill Luna for it, accidentally of course.

Perhaps all this can be the end of Shingleton, just an idea, tell me all what you think! It's open to changes and such, but my impression of Shingleton is that he'll do anything to hang on to his office, including arrange for a couple accidents and such. All unproven of course. It's open to everyone, thought it might be a good way to get the ministry folks yacking too!

As Molly stated in her journal a few weeks ago, it's about time for another family dinner. I was thinking we could hold one after Molly gets her job in St. Mungo's, which, I'm hoping will be before the end of August. Is everyone up for one?

So Claire and I were thinking it might be fun to have a summer get-together, to be held on the grounds of Malfoy Manor. Of course it would be open to anyone who wants to attend, and their guests. Food, and drink (alcoholic or otherwise) would be provided, naturally. 

I'm just really enquiring as to whether there is general interest. =) 

I hope you're all having far better weather than we are. This is the most dismal summer I can remember.

Here's the plottage bit of my latest "I'm Back" post so that any bunnies it spawns can be expanded upon!

So, to explain Aurin's absence from the game, I came up with the idea that, what with England's Death Eaters mobilizing for a resurgence, Voldemort's supporters in other countries are picking up on it and getting more active as well. The magical government of one such country (it'll probably have to be America, since if I need to know distances, places, etc. I'm most familiar with my home sweet home) sent to the Ministry asking for help. No longer able to ignore the fact that Aurin's team is indeed one of the most capable, Carson had to allow Aurin and Allocen to go undercover abroad, masquerading as Death Eater sympathizers and possible new recruits. The mission ended semi-successfully, with the arrest of most of the particular group they infiltrated, but unfortunately someone tipped off the group that they were being watched and they had to move sooner than planned (Aurin and Allocen weren't "made," though). So now they're back in merry old England just in time for the summer holidays.

Also, if it's ok with the admins, I'd like to add in that they've both got Dark Mark tattoos (just regular tattoos, since Voldemort's gone and he was the only one that could give a Mark) that they've yet to get removed, since it might be necessary for them to go back undercover, which might be a fun way to mess with Aurin's head, or the heads of those around him.

So that's it. Tell me if you come up with anything!

So there's this plotty idea I've had that involves Stephen, and though he could technically get there on his own it's a lot more fun to actually play out a thought process.
