What we fought about last night...

Every time you fall in love, you sign an unspoken contract that might as well be the eleventh commandment: "Thou Shalt Fight!"

We love, we live, we cherish, we care, we speak, we touch, we feel, we emote, we Fight!

This is a community where you come and report what happened to you...What happened last night.

If you fought with your partner and want to share it - maybe because you like telling stories, maybe because you need advice, maybe because you have a kink of making your private life public...or maybe because you like malice and want to get even with somebody.

Whatever it is, if it is a fight between lovers - arguments, debates, exchanges, dialogues, fights - unfathomable things that happen when two people try to be each other, this is where you want to talk about it.



Because we all need to talk. And we like to know that we are not alone. Because relationships can be sometimes difficult, sometimes funny, sometimes funny, sometimes hurtful. Whatever it is, this is the place to come and talk about it. But cut the mush. We don't want sitcom brand "awwwwww I am in love" noises.



All you need to do is give us one post about a recent fight. Let the members read about what you have to say. Let them decide if you are worthy enough of getting in. No matter what the nature of your relationship (online or otherwise), your sexual orientation, your interests, your choices, kinks preferences...as long as you can prove that you are not an idiot (sorry, I am allergic to them) you can join the community by pressing the right buttons and appeasing those already there.

HOW ARE MY POSTS GRADED?
The posts are graded using the following categories:

Rockin' Away (RA)- Posts that are sensitive and sensible. They make you laugh. Mature people who are able to bring out the irony and humour of their relationships.

Choppy Waters (CP)- Posts that are anecdotal but slip into sentimentality sometimes. Still, they hold you and they are able to communicate their problems effectively.

Desert Oasis (DO) - Posts that might just make it because you feel the person has a genuine problem. It whines sometimes but still you can 'connect' with the person because of some obscure reason- like you have a crush on them or something.

Rock Bottom (RB)- Whiners. Belt them with studded leather and throw them into magically sealed dungeons. Warn their partners about their irritation value and sympathise with them!

The moderator(s) decide who gets in and who doesn't after looking at what the members have to say.


If it hasnt still trickled through, let me spell it out in black code and white programs. You TALK. But you also listen. You make friends, entertain people, ask for advice, do anything you like as long as you talking about some aspect of your relationship.

To make your life easier - no I am not giving advice - we make your life easier. We give you a whole range of options to classify your post so that you can indicate what is the kind of comments you are looking for.

Anecdotes- Here is where you come to entertain the world. You found something funny, something stupid, something that you want the whole world to know for whatever reasons. Make sure your subject line says Anecdotes

Advice- There are sometimes when you want to just look for support, sympathy, help and advice. To make sure that you get what you are looking for, you must have Advice in your subject line.

Rants - Not many places allow you to rant, rave, make King Lear feel like in Paradise because you are misunderstood, overunderstood, ununderstood...you get the drift. Rant here and just spill your guts out. It might make feel you good.

Questions - Before you actually get into things or because something about your partner confuses you, you might want a majority poll or an opinion about how things are. Here is a better way of knowing those unfathomable mysteries of relationshps from other people.

Debates - Everyone has an opinion, just like everyone has an @$$hole...But there is a time and place to voice opinions and argue your head off. If you have any view points that you feel the extreme urge to talk about and announce to the world....here is your turn.



It isn't that difficult. You don't have to yell, you don't have to shout...you don't even have to do a strip tease to get attention. Here are a few pointers that might help you embowel your ideas:

Learn to Laugh: Nobody likes a whiner. Don't go on and on about how your heart is broken. Learn to appreciate humour in the darkest of things in life.

Be precise: Yes we see your point. In fact, we saw it twenty lines ago. Please don't tell me the same thing in the same words.

Learn to emote: People respond more to emotions than to objective scientific texts. Learn to explore and talk about your emotions and it might help.

Listen: If all you do is rant and rave and rave and romp and never listen to what others have to say, you might find people avoiding you like the latest Trojan virus. Establish a give and take with other members and you might find friends ready to help.

Spell: your parents are probably paying through their nose to educate you. Show your familiarity with the basic rules of grammar and spelling. Don't give us a hundred line paragraph of indecipherable text. Use Lj-cuts intelligently and make your text readable.

There, that wasn't too difficult, was it?



Elementary, my dear Watson. You are not obliged to write about all you go through. We strongly dissuade people from getting into fights just so that they can report them here. Have a good sense of humour but realise that some of the posts might be really serious and while it is fun to laugh, let us make sure we laugh with people rather than laughing at them.

Absolutely no flaming...We know you have an extensive vocabulary of four lettered words. But we don't want to be educated. If you cant empathise, shut your trap and stay put. If anybody is found to be unnecessarily harsh or critical, they will be warned and the curse of the bogies shall be put on them, so that the next time they kiss, they will taste pig's sweat in their mouth!



Yeah. Take responsibility for your posts. If you are making your life public, you will have to make sure that you understand what you are doing. Don't write things here in a drunken fit and then regret doing it in the morning.

Absolutely no promoting for any other community. If you are a fellow mod on the way to choking internet traffic and bandwidth with more obscure communities, email us at fightslastnight at gmail dot com and we will work out some secret contracts.

Do not respond to anything but your post and moderator post till you get accepted. If you break that rule, we will do some black magic and hurt you where it pains the most - and no we are not talking about ankles and shins!

Do not whine, do not complain, laugh a lot and send me an occasional message which tells me how great I am. OK not that, but understand that people are different and difference is to be appreciated.

If you are a jerk, a pill, an idiot or a fool and fail to see the humour in relationships, do us a favour...speak to the only person who might listen to you- your partner.

And One last thing...We might be in different time zones. Also, apart from fighting with my partner, I do other things in life. I might not be able to approve of your request for joining immediately. But I promise to do it within 24 hours. If it takes any longer, fume and froth but don't take out the steam of the fight on me!

And on last notes, I need to point out, to people who don't know of me, I have a personal/academic research interest in online communities and while it was not the only incentive in beginning this community, it is definitely one of the reasons.
