I have a black PVC Deadly Girls corset which has fingerprints and smudges on it. What's the best way to clean it in 4 hours?!

Also does anyone know of anywhere selling GHD straighteners at a good price?

How do I make Bustle [Jul. 19th, 2009|11:06 am]

I want to make a 'bustle' in more a draped farbic way. Which will sit over a skirt, but there will be no support from a bum pad or wired underskirt. I hope that makes sense!

Does anyone have any photos, pattern ideas, advise on making such a bustle? Or should I just experiment?

I have a limited amount of my prefered fabric (About 42inches by maybe 20inches), but can add more in a matching fabric pattern, say for udner pieces.

This is to be worn with a victorian style otufit, but I am not too bothered on period matching as long as i like the outcome :)

Laundry advice [May. 21st, 2009|08:43 am]

I have a pair of Criminal Damage 98% cotton and 2% lycra trousers that say dry clean only. Can I just throw them in the machine on a cold wash or something instead?

I can't afford for them to shrink as they won't fit me then!

Has anyone any previous experience of washing these? I can't believe everyone dry cleans them...

this community looks really fun so i thought i'd join. I *will* live in pennsylvania, USA, and I love knitting, and i'm learning to cook something other than stirfried stuff. I've got a couple questions regarding the bio of the comm. What is black knitting? and black soup? If anyone can clarify for me, i'd love it. Thanks much.
It said jam! I guess that's blackberries, right?

Ok,  I'm planning to make soup in bulk so I can freeze it for my lunches, only problem all my recipes are for 4 to 6 people.

I was wondering about freezing it in icecube bags and then I can just defrost a few bits at time? What do people think?

What do you have with soup? Bread is odvious but I can't really have that every day!

I need someone to make me a corset top. Not a proper "pull you in and stop breathing" one but a halterneck top with corset boning (stiff plastic probably) in Alexander Henry material. I have the design but not the material! I've had a look on eBay and no ones got anything even remotely similar for sale. Anyone have any recommendations of people or does anyone on here make them?

Thanks!

Help [Jun. 13th, 2008|10:16 am]

I have a handbag which I need to clean but I've no idea how. It is a red rigid bag covered in satin-like material. It unfortunately got put down in a dark club and now has what I can only guess to be beer stains and other manky marks on it.

Any idea on how to clean it?

I tried those silk tie wipe things you get in your room in hotels but the one I had was a bit old so didn't really work. Do you get dry cleaning wipes any where?
