Insert a SafeSurf label into your LJ Apr. 25th, 2006 @ 05:36 pm

The SafeSurf label is used by some net-nanny softwares to block access to sites, which can be interesting if you're posting things in your LJ you don't want little kiddies to read.

Here's a tutorial for getting one and inserting it into your LJ. This tutorial is for paid users who use a S2 style only. People who use a S1 style can do it very easily (see this post). Free users with a S2 style can't do it.

You should be all set.

If there are problems (and there will be), comment here and I'll try to help you. Before commenting, make sure to do the following:

RSS 2.0 Jan. 29th, 2006 @ 11:20 pm

I'm sure all of you have heard about RSS. RSS is a syndication format, and you can read them on any aggregator, and even on LJ. An aggregator is a software or a website especially designed to read RSS or Atom feeds, letting you choose which feeds you want to read and how you want to organise them. It's much less time-consuming than checking each website independantly.

What is RSS?Collapse )

For the rest of the tutorial, my examples will be geared toward creating an update feed, that is a RSS file for the updates of your website.

Now you're all set!

I don't have any exercises for you, but I'll be happy to answer any questions to the best of my abilities :)

Holidays and Hiatus Jun. 26th, 2005 @ 11:39 pm

The summer months are upon us and we here at Imagehtmltags are shutting down shop for the holidays. Both Imageskuf and I thank you for your support and your participation in this endeavor. Without you, there would be no community. ♥ ♥ ♥

A list of past lessons can be found here, along with some starter links. You can also drop us a line in the Questions? Concerns? Comments? entry.

I'd like to apologize for being MIA for the past couple of months, I've kinda sorta been on an unofficial hiatus. First it was school, then it was work, and if it wasn't one thing, it was another. Hopefully, the summer will give me time to sort myself out so that I can finish off the site design lessons.

Imageskuf has mentioned that she will be available should anyone have any site design questions. She'll post more on that a little later.

But for now, I'll say sorry one more time and wish everyone a really great holiday.

» Website & Design Tutorials
Hello and welcome to the website and design portion of Imagehtmltags We will be running the regular HTML lessons in tandem with the site and design tutorials. All of the HTML tags that Imageskuf and I have posted will be completely handy in this section. :)

Just like before, you don't have to particiapte in every single lesson. You can skip the lessons that you're already familiar with and only do the lessons that you're not.

All of the lessons and tutorials will be archived in the Memories section of this community for easy reference.

» A Quick Update
It's rather late, but Happy New Year, Imagehtmltags! <3

New year, new lessons. Imageskuf and I are planning on more (more? yes, more!) html lessons. And, we'll also be incorporating introductory site design and css lessons since there was some interest expressed in that.

A tentative lesson schedule and dates will be posted soon, so keep watch for upcoming events.

Thank you to everyone who participated in past lessons and we hope that you continue with the new ones that we've got planned this year. :)
