Queer As Folk Question
Okay, does anyone know who is older out of Michael and Brian in the show Queer as Folk USA? I can only find info on the actor's ages which isn't really what I want. Thanks x |

Transportation
So, I have a very very wealthy man. One with whom money is no object. He is from the old school, distinguished, but NOT boring… He has several cars, and I am sure they include some kind of limosene and something like a BMW… But what would be his just “getting-around-car?” One that he might take a friend or two for a drive? I know nothing about cars. This would still have to speak of MONEY… Not a fast little sports car, though… |

Searching for resources on running an estate
Writing in an RPG, my character is an English lord who unexpected inherited the title (father and older brother were killed). I'm looking for information on what he would do in the running of a large estate and title, but I can only seem to find historical info out there. So can anyone help with something perhaps more modern? |

An update! (ooh! ahhh!)
Long time, no update. I'm going to try to make regular updates here, hopefully at least once a week. Also, if anyone would like to comment & share their favorite resource, that would be awesome. I'm thinking of things like lexicons or dictionaries or guides - (such as the HP Lexicon - anything that really helps you when you sit down to write or make with the meta or create fan art or develop an RPG character's backstory. If there's interest, it may also be worthwhile to post favorite places to find images. I'll endeavour to make a post from time to time with links & sources grouped by category and put it in memories. This might also be a good time to point out that any member of the community can post. So, please do! And now, some links. ( First, some random reference links. Not fandom specific, but either generally good references or so quirky I could not pass them up:Collapse )More soon! |

Restaurant Questions
Good morning! Hope you all can help... I have noticed in a lot of smaller (and even larger) towns, there are restaurant chains that have start "connecting" to each other. I think Long John Silvers and A&W might be one, and Taco Bell and something else, I am not sure... Kentucky Fried Chicken and something... ...can anyone tell me some of these connections? Which places are connected together that is and not the corporate connections (although that might be interesting also). THANKS!!! |

I just finished this... tell me what you think! This is my result... YOU ARE A WOLF! You are fiercely loyal to those you love... and lethal to those you don't. If someone is lucky enough to be counted among your family or friends, they will be gifted with your eternal loyalty, courage, and devotion. You are a strong, passionate person who will always be there for those who need them. However, anyone who gets on your bad side had better watch out! When you feel threatened or hurt you will lash out however you can to hurt anyone in your way. You will stop at nothing to defend yourself or your friends, and your rage can be frightening. Be careful not to let that feral anger overtake you too often, else you might end up hurting someone you love.
Now that you know what your inner animal spirit is, let me show you something else....
Take my hand....

My first quiz! I'm both excited and nervous. I hope it's good and everyone likes it. There's a cool link in the results for those of you who like such things. I hope you all like it! Thanks to everyone who has welcomed me and added me to their friends list. Enjoy! YOU ARE A VAMPIRE!
You are the charismatic leader of the night. Seductive and beautiful, you lure humans to their deaths for their precious blood. Since you are dead already and as tough as they come, you are secure, condifent, and nearly invincible.
Welcome to the shadows!
And now that you know who you are, take my hand and join me in a trip to the unknown....

*waves sheepishly* Hi everyone. My name is Tatiyana, and I'm brand new to LJ and everything on here. I just joined a whole bunch of communities that sounded like places I mind find people like me or interesting things to do. I am from Connecticut and am very into all things dark and mystical. The more bizarre and unusual, the better it is for me. I've just discovered the joy of making quizes so from time to time I may post a quiz I've made if that's okay with everyone. I have one nearly done now, so I'll try and get it up tomorrow night. Well, I hope that's enough of an intro for you! I'm kind of nervous, so go easy on me, okay? Nice to meet you all, and I'll talk to you again soon! Current Mood: accomplished |

An introduction and a question...
Hi, everyone...just joined...avid fic writer with my brain currently being eaten by a conundrum, and wondering if anyone can help. In the merciless grip of Harry Potter plotbunnies and geekdom, I decided I want to give all my original characters wands that fit their personalities. I want the type of wood the wands are made of and what kind of core they have to reflect the personality of the character that owns it. Because, apparantly, as a college freshman with two papers to write and several books to read, this is what I choose to devote my time to. XD So, I figured that with all the HP character quizzes and sorting hat quizzes and so on out there, there must be some kind of meme or quiz that lets you select a wand. But I can't find any. So, barring that, I tried looking for information about any kind of symbolic importance or mythical properties attributed different types of wood, like willow and oak. Can't find anything like that, either. So, can anyone help me out with finding either one or both of those? Current Mood: geeky |

Hello, in case you missed it, I am new here. My wife is into slash (writes her own, reads other peoples) We are both into LotR and other fandoms, and my own interests include FRP and wargaming. To run any campaign or story in a historical seting, you need facts, and one of the best sources I know is the GURPS series. These books give you the lowdown on any historical period you want, like who was Emperor in Rome in a certain year, what sort of things would have been on sale in a store in Dodge City in the 1880s, and the differences between a Saxon fyrdman and a huscurl- the sort of thing you need to know if you are doing a story and want to get the details right.
