As we all know by now, Sorting has begun for Sorceror's/Philosopher's Stone. There are two groups and the side-along book is Oracle Quest. My question is, who's going to actually read the side-along book? I've heard of the Quest books many times through the HP fandom, but I've never actually read any.
Well it's official! Leaky's icontest is officially announced. Wooo hoo!!!
So here's a quick summary:
Our Leaky Contest Crew has teamed up with our Image Gallery staffers to form a new contest set to be launched on May 12th. Taking place in our Image and Fan Art Galleries, the IContest will have you creating icons based on some of the fan art images as well as other images from our galleries in future weeks.
I'm really excited about it, since I love making icons, and I love Leaky. Now I can combined the two! I'm also really excited since our wonderful Featured Artist glockgal has allowed us to use her art for the first challenge.
Wooo hooo!
If you guys could get the word out it would be much appreciated.

Well i have two things leaky related, and I figured perhaps I'd post them here to get some feedback and such.
1) Want your fan thoughts to air on PotterCast? This is your chance! Any member who has 1) a mic, 2) skype, 3) a program that can record you (such as Audacity) and 4) some thoughts on Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows chapters 6-10, this is your chance!

2007 has been an amazing year in Harry Potter fandom. The Order of the Phoenix movie appeared in theaters on July 11 followed shortly thereafter by the midnight release of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows on July 21. J.K. Rowling performed readings in the U.K., U.S. and Canada. PotterCast went on the road and visited many cities in the U.S. There were numerous symposiums and conferences around the world. Friendships have been formed, dreams have come true and memories have been made. To remember and reflect on 2007, we’re inviting you to utilize video, art, or creative writing to recap your memories of this year.
Just sneaking in here to say that my post commenting on Chickadee's Fan art poll was my one thousanth post on Leaky Lounge. Been on the lounge over a year now and what a year it has been.
(I missed the initial post on this - my FL is crowded, so I'm checking up on this at the page rather than on my FL - I'm Pittsburghmuggle on LL) Where were you when the book was released? Border's Books and Music, McKnight Road, Pittsburgh, PA I took a vanload of adults to get it.
How long did it take you to read it? Chapters 1-8 between getting home at 1:30am and reading til 4:00am Chapters 9-18 on and off during Saturday Chapters 19-finished at work Saturday night (I'm a security guard - closed the book at 6am Sunday).
What is your favorite scene? Ginny and Harry in Ginny's bedroom. I'm happy for that guy.
What was the hardest scene for you to read? I got sorta choked up when Fred died, but the janitor was mopping my lobby at that time so I had to keep it together. : /
Did it answer all your questions or did it leave you with more? I like a concrete, solid, closing ending. I was just a little disappointed. I would have liked to have more closure with Harry and Ginny than "Well, things just worked out while we were away from them".
What scenes from the book do you think will definitely be cut from the movie? Lordy. Hmmm... Tottenham Court Road will - it's not that important to the plot resolution in the end - the main thing they learn is the name is taboo and the movies haven't really been following the name bit anyway. I also think that all chapters at Privet Drive through arrival the the Burrow will be cut, because they can. : /
Where were you when the book was released? London. The Natural History Museum. Sitting Behind Evanna Lynch. Looking up at Jo. Wow.
How long did it take you to read it? About 13hours I think.
What is your favorite scene? I can't possibly pick one!! I love the bit where ron comes back, the bit when Harry wakes up/Neville gets his moment up until Voldy is killed. and where Hermy kisses Ron
What was the hardest scene for you to read? I have a few - Finding out DObby Died, Finding out Fred died, Finding out Lupin and Tonks Died, The bit in the forest with the resurrection stone and them walking beside him and the bit where Harry dies.
Did it answer all your questions or did it leave you with more? Answered most of them, Not all were the answers I wanted xD. I did want to know what happened to Luna and also George in the Epilogue.
What scenes from the book do you think will definitely be cut from the movie? I reckon Dobby will be cut, the bit with Dumbledore will be cut to bare minimum. Im not sure what Im sure there alot of bits I want to be in will be cut.
