One of my biggest pet peeves is loud/screaming kids (or people). Also the sound of people shovelling snow from sidewalks.  *shudders*

- Do you smoke? Do smokers bother you? I don't smoke, though I used to. Smokers... I'm not too keen on. I'd prefer if you didn't, but if you do it won't be an ultimate deal breaker.

- Do you drink? Do drinkers bother you? I drink very rarely. I'm not supposed to with the meds I'm on, but I'll sometimes have a drink on the rare occasion I hang out with friends.

- Do you drug? Do druggies bother you? I do not do drugs, though I am 4/20 friendly, and wouldn't mind *occasionally* smoking. Hard drugs users and people who smoke pot heavily are absolute deal-breakers for me.


- What types of music do you like? Mostly bands that lie in the realm of rock & metal. Agalloch, Anathema, Deftones, Amesoeurs, The Butterfly Effect, and sleepmakeswaves are some of my favourites.

- Which authors do you read, if any? I don't read as often as I should. My attention span doesn't really let me. But I love books.

- Which television shows are a must-watch for you, if any? I'm a bit of a fangirl when it comes to TV. Must-watch shows are Castle, Community, Doctor Who, How I Met Your Mother, Lost Girl, New Girl, and Shameless.

- What are some of your favorite movies? Independence Day, Forrest Gump, Up!, Finding Nemo, Rent, and Requiem for a Dream are some of my all-time favourite movies.

- If you could live anywhere in this world, where would it be and why? I haven't decided yet. I've fallen in love with the city of Boston and would absolutely *love* to live there someday, but at the same time my best friend ever lives in San Diego, and I would love to live there as well. If i had the means, living abroad (probably in Australia) would be amazing.


- What do you like on your pizza? I like hawaiian pizza (pepperoni instead of ham, though, and add black olives), margherita pizza (without parm cheese & with black olives, and your basic pepperoni & black olive pizza. Can you tell that I kind of have a love affair with black olives?  Because I do.  I also love onions on my pizza.

- Describe your perfect weekend. Hmm, if the weather was nice, I would love to just go exploring somewhere. My sister and I go hiking a lot in the warm months. We just find a place, drive there, and spend the day exploring. If it was cold, spending time inside is ideal. Probably chatting with family/friends, spending time online, and watching tv/movies or listening to music.

- Tell us your favorite scent? (You know, the one that makes you weak in the knees!) One of my all time favourite smells is the smell of lilacs. I also love the smell of freshly washed clothing.  The smell of the earth after it's rained is also quite invigorating.  I can't decide which is my favourite.

That sometimes the girlfriend application DOES work?  Seriously this is a true story, I met my girlfriend through this site and we're still together.  We're approaching THREE YEARS, people!  In lesbian years that's like a really big deal.

I want to tell you single ladies (apologies to Beyonce) that you really just have to be patient and up for anything.  I know you might think you're only looking for a relationship, or for a hookup, or for a whatever, but if you keep yourself open things can evolve and get awesome really quickly.  Case in point, my lady and I met with the intention of being friends-with-benefits... Four months after that we were an official couple, because falling in love happens fast sometimes and gets crazy.

I am femme, because I cannot fight the overwhelmingly feminine presentation I was born with. I own it. However, I am more comfortable "directing" behind the scenes, if you catch my drift!

I do adore other femmes, but as of recent an engaged and agonizingly unavailable butch has sort of captured my heart so that is also possible, apparently. Anything goes. I just ask you steal my heart back from her. :]

Curvy, though I've lost quite a bit of weight and am going to get back on that bandwagon soon. I'm a size 12, to give an idea.

Ask and I'll tell. My family isn't close. My mother knows and shrugs it off, my father and I are very emotionally distant, and he probably wont be informed unless he found out through other sources. No one would know it if they saw me walking down the street, as I am rather conservative about the subject of sexuality in general. I wouldn't wear a deeply plunging neckline and flaunt thong strings, so I suppose I've never had the desperate desire to flare myself in rainbows either. To each their own, and I am not criticizing, I am just a rather private person in general.

What's something you just absolutely love in a relationship?
There isn't possibly one single thing. Cuddling is a must. I want a muse, someone to inspire me artistically. I want someone who will depend on me, to cry on my shoulder, to call me in the middle of the night over a fitfully bad dream. I want to stroke her hair 'til she falls asleep, to be the one she instinctively reaches for when she stumbles. I want someone who has read this through without gagging.


Do you have any pet peeves? If so, what are they?
Snoring. Yet if my significant other snores it's the most charming sound in the world. True fact. I suppose on a less superficial level, dishonesty of ANY sort. You can lie to anyone else if you like, but not to me.

No and no.

Sometimes, though it's by no means a social habit either, nor will I ever be in danger of an addicton. I don't really care, though I tend to find people pretty obnoxious when drunk.

I've only tried pot. Three times. It was ... Insurmountably disappointing. But hey, if smoking weed's your thing, whatever. Any harder drugs though, no.

What types of music do you like?
I can't ever really answer this question.

I love the classics. Oscar Wilde, particularly. Anne Rice is amazing.

Which television shows are a must-watch for you, if any?
The Office, Curb Your Enthusiasm. I am a fan of some anime, though that boat has sort of sailed. FullMetal Alchemist though, man ... I also have a weird thing for anime nerds. Can't help it, nerdy anime fangirls are just overwhelmingly weird and cute.

What are some of your favorite movies?
The Ring (... I watch it whenever I'm depressed, it helps), Big Fish, Ghost World, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Millenium Actress, Miyazaki films.

If you could live anywhere in this world, where would it be and why?
I could never be satisfied in just one place, ever. If I absolutely had to choose just one, I suppose Italy. The history, the architecture, the art ... The food.

What do you like on your pizza?
EVERYTHING. Not pineapple.

Describe your perfect weekend.
I would wake up late, tangled up in my future misses. We would make pancakes late together, probably not finish 'til 1 but pancakes satisfy at any time of day. Then we'd drive for hours, to Erie maybe. We'd spend the remainder of the weekend at the beach. We'd stay in a lighthouse. We'd tour the shops and half-listen to live music, but then I'd suggest we go see an exceptionally bad horror film at the dollar theater even though it's something we could do at home. You don't tell me how impractical I am though and go with me anyway. There's no one else in the theater so we make love in the far back with our clothes (mostly) still on. I'd think about it over dinner, wanting you the whole damn time without a word, though there is some footsie happening under the table.

- Describe your perfect weekend. Ahh. My perfect weekend.  I think it'd include dinner out with friends or a special someone, or maybe I'd cook, since I love cooking, maybe go down the shore, go for walks or bike rides....it'd be very fun and relaxing.
- Tell us your favorite scent? (You know, the one that makes you weak in the knees!) As a non-perfume smell, anything that's baking in the oven- cakes, cupcakes, brownies etc- is heaven to my nose. Also I love the smell of rain, and the smell of the ocean.

- What is your name? Amy
- What is your relationship status? Single. Like, just me and my vibe, haven't even had a date in a while single. (I am not super social and am hoping teh interwebz will help with teh social anxieties in meeting people...)
- Where do you live? Will you date girls who don't live there? I live in the suburbs near Chicago right now. That might change soon. I'm job hunting and hoping to start a PhD program this fall and at this point not quite sure where I'll end up. - Do you have a preference, or don't you? If so, what is it? I guess I'm not into the really super butch type. Tomboyish is fine. I kinda like girls like me. Not too girly-girl, but not too butchy.

- What size (slim/athletic/average/curvy/heavy) are you? curvy, but right now I have a few extra pounds I'm trying to shed. It's not a lot, I still look okay, I just have a bad muffin top now that messes up the effect of my glorious hips and butt =P

Not so skinny that I feel like I'll break her if I hug her, but not so big that I always feel like I should talk to her about her weight (or that I feel like my own health would be compromised by her bad habits, since I'm trying so hard to shed some weight right now).

- Are you out? With my friends, yes, but not with my family yet.
- What's something you just absolutely love in a relationship? Someone to cuddle with and talk to and confide in. Someone to be totally comfortable with. I'm not good at social stuff, but once you get past that first awkward stuff, it is so great to have someone to just be easy with.
- Do you have any pet peeves? If so, what are they? People who say "Noo-kyoo-lurr" instead of "Nu-klee-ar", and other grossly obvious mispronunciations.
- Do you smoke? Do smokers bother you? I do not smoke tobacco, and smoke bothers me a lot. I'm allergic to tobacco and can't be around it so non-smoker is a must.
- Do you drink? Do drinkers bother you? I drink occasionally. It doesn't bother me if someone drinks some, but it would bother me if they did a lot, to the point of needing discussion about alcoholism.
- Do you drug? Do druggers bother you? I'll admit I've used marijuana on occasion - but my intent in use is mostly medical, not social. I have fibromyalgia and endometriosis, and THC helps with the pain when my meds aren't quite enough. I don't do it often though, haven't done it in a long time right now, and would quit if it bothered a potential mate. As for other drugs... light use of "easy" drugs wouldn't be that big of a deal, but I would be bothered by heavy use or by "hard" drugs like cocaine/heroin/etc.

- What types of music do you like? I mostly listen to hard/alt rock and metal like Disturbed, Within Temptation, Epica, Evanescence, etc, and will sometimes get into pop-type music like Lady Gaga (gotta admit she's catchy as hell) and a few others
- Which authors do you read, if any? I love to read and collect books - *real* books not digital ones - and my favorite genre is sci-fi/fantasy. I like dark and gritty "real" authors that aren't afraid to get sick and gory because that's how the real world gets - what real bad guy would hold back and not get sick and gory? One of my favorites is Anne Bishop. Right now I'm reading the Night Angel trilogy by Brent Weeks - I'm on the third book! Lighter stories can be fun too, though - I did enjoy Harry Potter, I'll admit. I'm mostly not into the whole vampire craze, although I do like Kelley Armstrong's series. I will never ever touch Twilight.
- Which television shows are a must-watch for you, if any? The Big Bang Theory is my absolute favorite! I also like Bones, House, the Mentalist, and Fringe.
- What are some of your favorite movies? I like lots of movies. Lately my faves are mostly cartoons, there haven't been a lot of good serious movies out. Despicable Me, How to Train Your Dragon, UP, the wonderful classic The Lion King, the first two Shreks (not so much 3 and 4), Kung Fu Panda, and Toy Story 1, 2, and 3 are some great cartoons. Live movies that I've liked recently are Inception, Sherlock Holmes, the Resident Evil series (the closest to "horror" movies I've ever gotten), and Avatar. I also like the Pirates of the Caribbean movies (especially the first one), the Star Wars movies (originals more than prequels). That's all I can think of right now. There's lots more, I'm sure. Action, sci-fi, romantic comedy, that kind of stuff is all good. Nothing super creepy though.
- If you could live anywhere in this world, where would it be and why? Tough question. I love Ireland so that would be a good choice just for the love, but for the ideal weather, I'd have to go for mid-to-south coastal California. - Describe your perfect weekend. Like I said before, I'm not super social so most weekends (when I don't have to work, that is) I just like to relax. A perfect weekend would involve sleeping in, a nice brunch, chilling for the afternoon, a good dinner, then maybe out for a bit, but not too late. Then more sleeping in the next day, and relaxing alllllll day. Snuggling with my cats is always on the list. Books or video games or some tv? Who knows =) For something a little more adventurous, a weekend trip would not be out of the question. Camping, hiking, kayaking, etc, all fun. Day trips to zoos and aquaria are always fun.
- Tell us your favorite scent? (You know, the one that makes you weak in the knees!)  I like scents that are lightly floral with woodsy undertones, and reminiscent of nighttime. If that makes no sense to you, go smell "Moonlight Path" or "Twilight Woods" at bath and body works - that is exactly what I'm talking about =)
- Is there anything else you'd like to add? What a thorough application. I'm always down for more internet friends so if there's anyone who just wants to friend my journal and chat on line, that is cool, even if you're way far away location-wise in terms of the potential dating thing.

Hmm...I'll let my picture speak for itself but maybe soft butch? Tom boy? I have very short hair and like wearing waistcoats. I very rarely wear dresses but I can look feminine if I so desire.

I do prefer femmes and tom boys. I apparently have a thing for short hair.

I do prefer women on the slimmer side of things, and by slim I mean my size or slightly bigger. Ultimately though, it's the personality that counts, right?

On the rare occasion that I get drunk around someone with cigarettes I will have one but otherwise no, I don't and I really prefer non smokers.

Yes, yes I do. Drinkers definitely don't bother me. The more people I can share a bottle of wine with, the better :D

Never have, never will and I have a big problem with people that do.

Oooh a bit of everything, my iPod is a hot mess. I am especially fond of Lady Gaga if that helps :)
