Hello all! New to the group but must say I'm a bit estastic to find other people that like Nina Gordon. My friends are like...who? (I know...it's sad)
Nonetheless, I just bought her new CD off of itunes and was wondering if anyone knew where I might be able to find some lyrics? I'm normally pretty resourceful in the lyric dpt but for some reason failed miserably this time.
Any help would be much appreciated!

Nina news!
This is a post on her forum, where she talks about some changes in her life and the record release date!!
forgive me, friends, for i have sinned. it has been SEVEN FUCKING MONTHS since my last post. my only excuse is this: i haven't wanted to write anything until i had something definitive to tell you about the release date of my album. i have been in limbo, and didn't feel like sharing my limbo-y misery with all you. but i finally have something to report. i have a release date. i think. do you want to know what it is?
since i last spoke to you, i have moved (only a block away from my old house, but none of that bad jim morrisson karma), been to party at prince's house, cut all my hair off, hated my hair, never watched a single episode of american idol, watched every episode of project runway, come to terms with my hair, been invited to another party at prince's house but decided not to go (if you had told me this would happen when i was 16, i would have had you committed), stopped eating sugar, did a photo shoot for the album, started eating sugar again, and twiddled my thumbs and waited for a fucking release date!!
it's july 18th, by the way. do you think that's too far away? i don't. i like it-- summer album, summer tour. perfect. oh, and my hair will have grown out by then.
so, accept my apologies and love me the way i love you-- unconditionally and without judgement of your hair.

07.27.05· Nina writes from Los Angeles:
the new album is upon us, i swear. i am busy looking through photographers books, trying to pick someone to shoot the album artwork, and putting together my long, long, long list of thank yous for the liner notes ("forgive me friends, for i have sinned: it has been FIVE YEARS since my last record...."). the album will be out on warner brothers at the (very) beginning of the year (don't yell at ME, it's not MY fault), and will include 16 new songs. at the moment i am calling it bleeding heart graffiti.
in the meantime, if you want to hear a more pristine version of "alone with you", than the one on this site, and also give some $$ to a very important cause that's very important to me, go to www.cancerbenefit.org and buy abrazos. it's a complilation put together by a friend of mine, benefiting the susan g. komen breast cancer foundation.
more news soon, a new website soon, and a new album soon. hang on everybody, it's all happening...

"....working with bob rock again. seriously, he is my guradian angel. everything sounds amazing....
today wendy came and played guitar and bass on "suffragette" which is the song we wrote together. it's funny, she is a good friend of mine, but sometimes i have these reality check moments where i am like. "oh my god , that's WENDY MELVOIN!!!" still a little starstruck. she is so, so cool. and the song is bad-ass. remember what i said a while back about there not being any ROCK on my record? well, scratch that-- things have CHANGED. i mean, it's not gonna be like st. anger or anything, but it is not the sad, sleepy record that i finished last summer. i am soooooo happy right now, you guys. forilla.
right now we are doing some piano overdubs on "turn on your radio," i am on my computer, and we just ordered thai food (pad woon sen for me) and life is good. and... cue the earthquake!!!
we are working fast, and we will be done by the end of march. i promise you'll hear it soon. okay, i know my promises don't mean much around here (hi stevie!!), but i mean it!

07.21.04 · New shows confirmed:
As usual, Nina will perform with the Electrick Snowflake at Bring The Rock on August 20th. The following night she will be performing at the Hollywood Café with guest Dave Gibbs (aka Kid Lightning). Nina will play an acoustic set including new songs so if you live in the area make sure to be there. For details visit the shows section!
And on the subject of Dave Gibbs, head over to the Kid Lightning website to listen to Nina sing "One More Night". They recorded the cover in Dave's studio and he was kind enough to make it available online.

yeah so I am not good at the community thing. I mean I can write about Nina, but what else can you say? She's amazing...anyhow I saw "Kill Bill vol.2", it was so badass, it makes me appreciate the fact I have not been buried alive...(you have to watch the movie to see...tee hee) I mean initial blood and gore is gross in any movie, but once it has been going on for like 30 minutes of the movie it's ok. I will write a song about it, I will call it "ode to Urma( bill and quintin excluded)". Anyways sorry for the random nothingness.

i'm in the studio in los angeles, just finishing up. i recorded 13 songs with ethan johns (ben kweller, kings of leon, ryan adams, leona naess, jayhawks, etc). a whole new group of musicians played on this one: ethan, richard causon, jeff russo (the love of my life) jen condos, jay bellerose, chris thomas, chris stills, daniel lanois (oh my god), and lots of violin, viola, and cello players whose names i can't remember... once i am done, i will hand the record over to my friends at warner brothers (hope they dig it) and then we decide on a release date. still not sure of the title, gotta do artwork etc... any ideas? but the album is days from being finished and that feels pretty sweet. stay tuned...

Hi!! My name is Angela and I just joined the community. Nina is just Aweinspiring. She has this glorious angelic soprano voice,indepth lyrics, yet she's a badass rock star. It just doesn't get much better than that! Well its late here in Michigan, got class tommorrow.
