Refined Critics is a community for many people from the city of Denver, state of Colorado, or anywhere else in the world to write reviews of local restaurants, clubs, museums, and any other open public event. Refined Critics also welcomes and encourages personal reviews of books, movies, poetry, art, and politics.
The idea of this community is to voice your opinion and read the opinions of others. You are welcome to chronicle your journy through pop culture and read other users's journeys as well.
A few simple, common sense rules apply.
1. Healthy debate is always welcome! Don't simply slander someone's opinion or review without having founded a real basis in your opposition.
2. Any profanity is welcome, but use it tastefully and not in a shrewd manner. Everyone has moments where they can't help but explain a moment or a book or something else without stating "It was total bullshit." Keep it semi-professional, in other words.
3. Have fun! This community is here so that people can make recommendations and responses to opinions. Use it to open your mind and broaded your horizons.
4. Try for one post a month. Not all of us are on staff at a local magazine, busy writing reviews and dining out every night! But we're sure that you all experience at least one thing a month that is worth review.
5. Please try to keep your posts limited to new experiences as they come to you in 2005. That doesn't really mean that you can only review new books/movies/music. It means that you can review whatever you want, if it's new to you. Please don't post about your favorite CD from high school in 1993, unless you've forgotten how wonderful it was and have recently rediscovered it.
Some of the items that we want to see reviewed include, but are not limited to: Clubs, Restaurants, Coffee Houses, Museums, Artists, Musicians, Movies, Politics, Books, Video Games, Cities, Travel, Fashion, Designers, etc. If you have a great idea that you want added to the list, just post about it and we can add it!
