James Potter slash + gen

Welcome to Stag Night, a James slash and gen community linked to the Potter Slash Archive (PSA). While not as common as other characters and pairings, there is a fair bit of James fiction and art scattered around. This community’s goal is to bring it all together; a place for fiction, art, recs and, if so inclined, discussion of James – on his own, with friends, or paired with any male character.

First things first, this community is now unlocked. However, any fics or art featuring people under the age of 18 in sexual situations will still be friends locked. This is to protect both the artists and authors and the community. So, anyone wanting to see those posts will have to join the community. Any fic or art that is rated R or NC-17 must be marked as adult concepts or adult content, whichever applies. If you are not sure or don't know how to do this, ask one of us. We are nice and will help you.

General posting access to Stag Night is by moderator invite-only. If you have been invited and given posting access, please feel free to start sharing your James fanworks (one of the mods will contact you about this first). Posters may refer an author or artist for membership, and we encourage recommendations.

AND, watchers can submit fics and art for all challenges and fests by emailing their submissions, formatted and betaed exactly as you want them to appear, to the mods at stagnight(at)gmail(dot)com.


What is allowed:

Pretty much anything James related that is not overly het is allowed here. Gen Marauders with Lily art has been archived on the PSA, for example. For stories, James or the James slash pairing must be the main focus. James threesomes, pre-slash and James/Lily as a secondary pairing are all allowed too (as are other secondary pairings). Members are encouraged to post not only new work, but old classics as well – we would all love to see them again! All work posted to the community will be archived on the PSA, unless specifically stated otherwise.

All fics and art will be cross-posted to stagnight on InsaneJournal. If you have an IJ and can post there yourself, we would love that. If not we will post it there. If for some reason you do not want your work posted on IJ, let us know.


So that concludes the basic ideas and goals of the community. The following are posting guidelines to help the community run smoothly.

Posting Fiction and Artwork:

• In the subject line please put either fic or art, title, pairing and rating. For example: Fic: Storytelling, James/Sirius, Harry/Sirius, NC-17

• Please post your work here rather than linking to it off the community. This is to ensure that, in the case of a personal LJ being deleted or terminated for whatever reason, the story and art links on Stag Night do not get broken. The watchers of this community rely on the memories section to find older works by authors and artists they like - we hope you understand why we prefer direct posting.


• The story or artwork itself should be hidden under an lj-cut.


• As well as being archived on the PSA, posts will be added to the community memories for your convenience. If you have more than one story/piece of art, could you please post them separately. It makes logging them in the memories a lot easier.


• Please only post finished works here. As they will be archived on the PSA, I would rather not put up a rough version only to re-archive the finished version.


• Stories and art of all ratings are accepted and encouraged. Also, stories of all lengths are accepted, from drabbles to (if we are lucky) novel-length fics. If you have a chaptered story, please link to previous parts when posting a chapter.

General Posting and Replies:

• Not much else to add, other than please keep things on topic (James-related), and show each other the respect everyone deserves. Authors and artists love feedback and constructive criticism, however flames will not be tolerated. Just share and enjoy the wonderful work presented here!
