Are you fed-up with garbage, full-of-shit sites where nobody actually communicates, such as Facebook, Instagram, TikTok and Twitter? Do you wish your old friends who've migrated to those sites would return to LiveJournal? The the_lj_revival community has been set up with that aim in mind, and you are invited to join it. If you are already on LiveJournal and still have a Facebook profile, and would like to see more people returning to LJ or setting up accounts here, we invite you to post a link to this community on your Facebook Timeline. If you would like to find out who is still using LiveJournal and make contact with those who are already here, you are invited to copy and paste the 'about me' questions on the profile page and post them with your answers to the community.

Just joined and thought I'd say hi. Name's Chadwick. Suits are really the only thing that make me literally weak in the knees. It's crazy. If a man has a nice haircut and a nice suit, I'm his. So I hope everyone has a nice weekend and such, and take care. :D

I don't suppose anyone would consider co-writing/RPing out a suit-themed gay love story? (with added ties and waistcoats.)

Though I'd take a moment to let you all know that it's Fashion Week in NY, so there are lots of pretty people about, including pretty men in pretty suits and other pretty outfits. Someone over at ONTD has lovingly made a post filled with all of the pretty.
Enjoy!

Hi everyone, I hope that this community is still active. I love suits and have a few that are really great, so I thought I would post. Yesterday we went to Disneyworld for T-Day. I wore a tan suit with a tartan tie that I purchased to match my kilt on my wedding day, it is my family tartan from Wales. Anyway, enjoy.

well isn't THIS a great idea for a lj community? hi, i'm laini. i just got here. :)
for my first post i thought i'd show off a couple favorite handmade note cards i've done recently... i'm just about to begin selling them, so if you have any comments or suggestions (either what you like or don't like, or if you do so too i'd love to know how), they are most welcome!

these are the first things i ever made, and were originally intended for just me and my friends but everybody loved them so now i've made tons... not all of the others are this silly, but actually there are some that are MUCH sillier ;)
ps- ( are anybody else's lips quivering?Collapse )
voila! yum.

| suit question |
[20 Jan 2007|02:14pm] |
i was just watching Miller's Crossing last night. it's a great Cohen Bros. movie, if you haven't seen it. anyway, i just can't get over how dapper the suits from that time were...which leads to my question...
does anyone know where are some good places to find vintage suits from the prohibition/20s/30s era?

I've been inactive for a while, but just got a cameraphone a month or so back... Comments appreciated!
I absolutely love these two plaid ones. The blue one is just a jacket and vest, which I pair with black pants. The black/white plaid one is a full three-piece, and has a light red/"salmon" overbar, with an incredibly flashy, bright-red lining and vest backing. The lining matches that red tie perfectly.

| How do you like to wear your suit? |
[03 Sep 2006|03:39pm] |
Yes, the title pretty much says it all.
I was thinking about my personal touches to wearing a suit, and I must say, I know there's a style that really stands out. One that's comfortable and distinctive.
Underneath the all-important jacket, I love a timeless silk tie, knotted against an all-purpose shirt, and snug inside a v-neck jumper/sweater (sleeves optional). It's a fantastic look during the colder days. Conservative yet cosy.
To demonstrate, I'll share with you all some photos that capture this look in my own funny way...

What are your opinions on the new revelation of wearing this combination?
I love it personally, but I love wearing ties and jackets as much as possible.
By the way I'm new.
