Thanks!

Hi, I'm new and I've been wanting to do pilates for a while now but I don't have the money to buy the videos or take classes...and I was wondering if anyone could share some pilate moves that are really effective? I have already gotten the 6 basic moves on ivillage.com, but that's about it.
Thanks!

I've done Winsor Pilates off and on for about two years now. However, after finally reaching my weight goal I'm attempting a month of hardcore pilates to really start my way to the defenition and lines I want. Unfortunately, I often find myself lacking the motivation to do pilates (even though I always feel better and more energized afterwards). Any motivation tips that have worked for people?
Additionally, are there any pilates success stories here in the community? That is, for those people who have stuck with the process and also how long until you began to notice a difference? (I know this will be different for everyone, but some idea would be nice.)

9:56 pm - Slimming down

I'm a girl with really bulky calves and bigger shoulders than i would like because of muscle. Is there anyway to slim it down other than just losing the muscle? I really would like nice legs, but it's impossible with my calves. Any ideas are appreciated. Thanks!

I've been interested in getting the Winsor Pilates DVDs for a long time. Where have you gotten yours and how much was it? What is the cheapest price that you've seen for the starter kit? Preferably in-store and not online.
I know of the $9.95 starter kit on the WP official website, but that's for actual subscription, right? Is it possible to just cancel it as soon as I receive the first shipment of JUST the starter kit?
I'm just kind of tight on money right now but still really want to try this out. Thanks in advance!

Hi, new here. I did Pilates a while ago for two weeks straight - three/four times a week and noticed a significant difference in my strength, energy, and muscles. I normally take naps, but when I do Pilates I end up not taking one. :)
Well, I ended up slacking, and I'm trying to lose weight this summer. I figured Pilates would be a good place to pick up again. What else do you guys recommend in addition to pilates, to lose 15 lbs this summer?

Hi! i'm new to the community.
I've had my windsor pilates dvd's for about a year now. but i move around a lot and that tends to interfere with my workouts. i've lately decided that i need/want to try and go at them again.
I have the 20 min workout, the 45 min accelerated workout and the ab workout. I generally try to do a combination of them plus some leg work/push ups and stuff.
I want to get the arm and thigh package (two disk) set that i saw at target and was wondering if anyone else has them?
i waitress and don't really have time to do much cardio, which sucks because i know it would help a lot faster. as well as terrified to go to a gym. but i'm pretty good with sticking to my pilates and doing them...
i'm trying to tone up my tummy, thighs, arms...as those are the parts that just love to collect fat. ugh!

Hi all! I'm new to this community, just joined now.
Anyway, I've had Winsor Pilates for over a year and a half now, but every time I start, I give up a week or so later after not feeling any better. Does anyone have any idea as to generally how long it takes to see results? Keep in mind that I'm not sticking to the Winsor Pilates diet since I'm 15 and my parents (as well as the girl who sold it to them) feel as though it wouldn't be healthy for me. But I have given up all junk food as well as pizza and etc.
Thanks! ^_^

I have just joined the group & wanted to say hello. I have recently started Winsor Pilates and I can totally feel the burn in my abs. I LOVE IT! I did have a question, though .. I have been doing the 20 minute workout every day, and just noticed that the package says 3x a week. What do you guys find is the best?
Thanks!

THIS HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THIS COMMUNITY
feel free to delete but as long as I can get signatures I'm posting this:
Stop the Canadian Baby Seal Hunt
233,247 baby seals have been clubbed, skinned alive, and left to die in the past 19 days.
http://www.protectseals.org/?source=gabag9
PLEASE click on the above link to sign a pledge (it takes TEN SECONDS OUT OF YOUR PRECIOUS LIFE) and see what you can do, if you so choose. I only beg that you give them a name to add to the pledge against Canadian seafood to show your digust for this cruelty.
This is NOT a meat-eating matter. This is FUR for FASHION because your ass needs it to look like J-Lo.
Defenseless baby seals that are left skinned alive and dazed from being clubbed twice in the head... for hours. Until they finally die.
just. sign. the. damn. thing.

I've known about WP for awhile, and I finally got it this Sunday! I've been doing it everyday since, but just the 20 minute regular workout tape I got at Costco. I'm kinda worried, because I did feel my powerhouse getting sore at the beginning, which meant that its supposedly working. But its not sore anymore, and I don't feel like my flexibility has really increased. Am I doing anything wrong? I feel like I've been doing everything right, except for the Saw, because my legs always start popping up when I reach over. Its been 6 days, and I honestly don't feel any different. I've also cut down on fatty foods. Maybe I need more exercise? Tae-bo? DDR? I'm a desperate gal! o_O

Hey guys! I'm considering buying winsor pilates, and I'm currently at their website looking at some of their offers (click here)... anyway, i'm debating what to buy. i'm considering the middle one, which includes ( these products....Collapse )
The other plan only includes the basic step-by-step & 20 minute workout. What do you guys recommend? also, is there any way i can get these packages at a local store? I'd appreciate any advice! Thanks so much! (:

I have a few Pilates tapes already, but I don't have a mat yet, so I'm just looking through all the tapes to see what's to come :) I'm SUPER excited, but I have a question. I (ofcourse) know that Pilates will give you long and lean muscles, but will you lose weight from it? I have a few (15 :O) vanity pounds that I would love to get rid of, and it would be so great if doing Pilates would take care of that for me :)

I just got the 3 DVD Workout Set of Winsor Pilates yesterday and of course I immediately tried it out. I suck! I can't do the rolling like a ball thing or the Seal. Did/Does anyone else have this problem? If you did have this problem but don't anymore, how long did it take you to master it?
Other than that, my whole body feels like Jell-O set on fire. And I love it.

I just got Winsor Pilates. I basically suck at it so far because my body isn't fexible at all :D but I like it either way!
My question: Does it actually work?! and if I alternate between a day of pilates and then a day of running all week, would that be the better way to go?
Thanks, lovely community :)
