COLLEEN ABBOTT GALLERY

Aurora Public Library welcomes you to the Colleen Abbott Gallery, where fresh exhibitions and local voices continue to inspire.

Established in 2008 to honor the visionary leadership of former CEO Colleen Abbott, the gallery provides free exhibition space for both emerging and established local artists. Located on the second floor of the Library, the Colleen Abbott Gallery is dedicated to showcasing original, inspiring work that sparks creativity, communication, and joy.

The gallery also invites artists to share their talents with the Aurora community through engaging Artist Talks and hands-on programs. With rotating shows throughout the year, visitors can look forward to new perspectives and meaningful connections between art and community.

Art from the Heart

In partnership with Memory Lane Home .com

June 2026

We’re proud to showcase artwork created through Art from the Heart, a therapeutic creative arts program supporting caregivers and individuals living with Mild Cognitive Impairment (MCI) or mild to moderate dementia.

Now on display in the Colleen Abbott Art Gallery at Aurora Public Library until June, these meaningful mixed-media collage boards celebrate creativity, connection, expression, and community. Led by a Registered Art Therapist, the 8-week program invited participants to explore art in a warm and supportive environment where every piece tells a story from the heart.

Drop in and enjoy the exhibit during your next library visit and take a moment to experience the creativity, emotion, and stories behind each piece.

Thank you to everyone who participated and shared their creativity with our community. For more information about the program, visit: Memory Lane Home Living
