Clint Barton, a former carnival attraction, has originally adopted the colorful identity of Hawkeye to prove his skills before the world as its greatest marksman. Having walked a path of redemption, he has become an estimated hero, being a central figure within Earth's Mightiest Heroes, the Avengers. Coming from an opposite upbringing, the privileged rich girl Kate Bishop has succeeded Barton when he was believed dead as the all-new Hawkeye. Together, they both operate under the name Hawkeye, occasionally acting in partnership.
