For every pet that stays with us, a $15 donation is made to the Bow Valley SPCA, Canada’s only no-kill, no-cage adoption centre. Located in Canmore, the Bow Valley SPCA provides a compassionate, cage-free environment for rescued dogs and cats, focusing on rehabilitation, enrichment, and adoption into loving homes. Their work is entirely community-supported and dedicated to improving the lives of animals throughout the Bow Valley region.

Lake Louise is a paradise for adventurous pups and their humans, with stunning trails that range from leisurely to bold alpine treks. Start with the Lake Louise Lakeshore Trail for easy lakeside views, then set your sights higher with hikes like Fairview Lookout, offering panoramic vistas after a short but steep climb. For a bigger challenge, the Lake Agnes Trail leads past Mirror Lake to a charming mountain teahouse—dogs are welcome on leash and will love the fresh alpine air. The Big Beehive adds even more elevation and jaw-dropping views over Lake Louise, while the Plain of Six Glaciers Trail rewards hikers with dramatic scenery and the chance to spot wildlife along the way. In winter, enjoy snowshoeing or quiet strolls along groomed paths—just don’t forget the dog boots! With wide-open spaces, fresh alpine air, and plenty of pet-friendly trails, Lake Louise is the perfect base for your next Rocky Mountain escape with your four-legged companion.
Policy Details
To ensure a comfortable stay for all guests:
- Your pet may not be left unattended in the room. A $75 removal fee will be applied to your guest room should your pet be removed due to excessive noise.
- Pets are not permitted in any of the restaurants or lounges due to the provincial Food and Liquor laws.
- Pet owners are responsible for their pets at all times during their stay. Pets should be well-behaved and kept on a leash or in a carrier in all common areas of the hotel.
- Please be mindful of noise disturbances caused by your pet. If your pet becomes disruptive to other guests, we may request that you take measures to address the issue promptly.
- Any noise complaints that result in refunds to other guests will be charged to the guest room with the pet.
- Please note that amenities such as the dog bed, water bowl, and amenity basket are provided for use during your stay and should not be taken home. If these items are removed, a charge will apply. Should you wish to keep any of these items, they are available for purchase at the front desk.
- Pet owners are financially responsible for any damage resulting from their pet's behavior. A deposit of $250 will be pre-authorized upon check-in. If no damage is found upon departure, the full amount will be refunded to the card on file. Additional charges may apply if damages exceed the deposit. The room will be checked and deposits returned by 4 pm on the day of checkout.
- A reminder that we are in the Banff National Park and the local Bylaw requires that all dogs be leashed throughout the Village of Lake Louise. Please be mindful of the residence wildlife including bears, deer, and coyotes.
- Service dogs are exempt from pet fees. Guests may be asked to provide a valid government-issued Service Dog Identification Card.
- Emotional support animals do not qualify as service animals under Alberta law and are therefore considered pets. A pet fee will apply for guests traveling with emotional support animals.
