Walz has stopped in the middle of his speech because he noticed somebody overheating in the crowd. He said "Oops, somebody's hot," asks for water, asks team for help, then stands in silence at the podium for more than a minute watching to make sure the person is ok

Senior women supporting Harris by a 2-1 margin in Iowa poll is a reminder that it's not just young women who care about abortion. Over a long life, almost every woman has either experienced a miscarriage or helped a close friend through one. They know how personal this is.

Whatever happens, Mamdani wrote a new playbook for progressives He reached outside the base. He ran away from purity politics. He didn't run as "I'm the true progressive and you're not." He tolerated disagreement, embraced persuasion, and emphasized building common ground.

I covered the Clinton campaign, the Women's March, the anti-Trump resistance, the wave of women in the 2018 midterms... and the momentum for Harris over the last 5 days is basically like all of that rolled together. These organizers built muscle memory and it never went away

I think Harris’s chances against Trump are being way underestimated and here’s why: 1) She can run on the (largely popular) Biden-Harris agenda: huge infrastructure gains, big climate wins, student debt, etc…and can actually sell it because she can do public appearances

My favorite thing abt Nancy Pelosi is that the most effective legislator of the last 50 years was elected to Congress at the age of 47, *after* she raised five children... So if you're a 45yr old overwhelmed mom who doesn't know what's next... you could still be Nancy Pelosi

call me crazy but after a year when a consistent political opinion from voters has been “oh please not this again,” it seems very likely that any replacement (including Harris) would get a big enthusiasm bump just from being neither Biden nor Trump
